Ohhh, I just want to love him and cuddle him and squeeze him, and keep him safe forever!
This was a great first chapter. I', a sucker for child like Bill, even though it is a serious condition (whichever one it may end up being). Will it be first person Bill all the way through, or are you planning on showing stuff from Tom"s persepctive too?
I can't wait to see more! Keep up the spiffy fabu work! *hugs*
Author's Response: I always want to hug BIll, but especially in stories where he's just the darnest thing ;) As of right now I'm sticking to Bill's perspective, but a Tom perspective depends what's best for the story, so it's a possibility. Newest chapter's up! :)

i'm actually reading "the curious incident of the dog in the night-time" in my literature class, and this is so good as the book.
good job (:
Author's Response: What a coincidence! I just read it for mine as well :D *high fives teachers for good reading taste*

You did a great job on that narrative. All the little details that most people either wouldn't think to say, or else just wouldn't say, came through with Bill, and you really did manage to show that he has a different way of thinking, but perhaps isn't too terribly disabled, in terms of what he can do.
Author's Response: I'm glad you think so. I'm definitely having a lot of fun developing Bill's character, particularly because he's innocent and likable, and his childishness for his age makes him an interesting personality to explore. Thanks for the review! :D

i loved "the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime" too!! Using that as inspiration should make for an interesting story. I look forward to reading it :)
Author's Response: I'm totally gushing over that book at the moment and I really want to read more on autism because of it. I don't think this story will be similar to that one, but it does provide great inspiration. :D

Ahhh, I reread that he's seventeen. Ok wow, so definite cognitive impairment. I really like what you said about leaving Bill undiagnosed, because that happens sometimes. Like, I see that happen in my daily life. So, I'm starting to suspect something happening to Bill as a young child... neuronal injury of some sort. Car crash, shaken baby, abuse, poisoning, nutrition issues... So many possibilities!
Author's Response: I'm glad you realized his age, because I think it sheds a whole new light on the subject of Bill. :)

Bill is charming and quite realistically childlike. I imagine him being maybe 7 or 8? He's quite cognizant, but then I went and reread the notes and Bill has a disability. Hm. I suspect he's older than he appears. I don't suspect autism nor Asperger's. Perhaps he had brain injury from one of his zillion accidents. OR you know what? You know what would be really deep? Is if Bill had a lack of oxygen in the womb because Tom's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck which resulted in a cognitive impairment; and Tom blames himself to this very day. Does Bill have a syndrome? Can twins get syndromes or would it be both twins? Does Bill have disordered bone tissue?
Kinda my specialty zone here. I look forward to the reveal of the diagnosis. OR better yet, don't tell us because it's fun to play detective and find out. XD
I really like the childish narrative style, very very much. This is exactly like the kids I work with.
Author's Response: At first I was going to go with Autism, but then I realized all the research that would entail and I didn't want to portray it inaccurately, so for now he's just classified as being "disabled", which if you talk to my English professor you'll ask yourself, aren't we all disabled and what defines disability... ^^ All interesting thoughts to ponder :) Nice suggestion, but I don't think I'm going to go with that because I have some of my own ideas in mind, and I'm not looking to explore the other character's psyches too much; this story is about Bill's world. I think it's cool that you have some expertise with this, and please don't be offended if I'm misinformed about certain things. I'm not trying to offend anyone, and this is just my version of semi-real fiction. :)

Interesting, Id like to see where your brain takes you with this, just a suggestion, maybe his disability stems from a difficulty with lack of oxygen during birth, it has happened where one twin is fine and the other has some sort of issues birth related but its just a suggestion, good job so far
Author's Response: Oh, I've already got a few ideas of where this is going to go, and I'm thinking I might need to change some of the warnings for this story at some point. Several other people mentioned that Bill have a similar condition, but I'm still thinking on it. Newest chapter's up, and I hope you enjoy it :D
