I thought for a second there that Bill died! That would have been amazing. I don't know, I have this weird thing where I like major character death for the sake of love.
Tom is just a darling in this story; the poor guy, born with this curse/blessing, and he tried to connect to Bill despite the risk. What an awful situation, to want to be friends with Bill again because Bill is hurt that they're not, and then to not want to be around Bill for the real threat of Bill dying.
This was a superb story, I really enjoyed it. I'm finding that I enjoy every story of yours. I'm quite pleased by you.
Author's Response: Oh it probably would have but I'm a supreme sucker for happy endings. You're right though that would have been extra dramatic and double the bittersweetness.

Nooo, I thought there were going to be four chapters! (Why did I think that?) Well, this one was very long, so it's all right ;P
*keens* Bill didn't believe him :'(
Also, for some reason it was a surprise for me that he told him. In the back of my mind I knew it was likely Tom would say it eventually, but lol, I don't know.
Omg, at the end I thought Bill's hands were bare, and he was touching him, so my reality about the ability was all confused and shattered, and I had to read it again, but then I saw in a review you said he was wearing gloves ;P I have no idea how I missed that. I've been sort of absentminded lately.
Hmm, I don't usually focus on anyone but the twins in stories, but now I do sort of want to know what's Gustav's story. Lol, I don't presume you'll write it, but it's something to wonder about.
Seconded on the cute ending.

XD If you go back and read, I mentioned he's wearing gloves when he visits after so long, and also, that he is lacing his gloved fingers through Tom's own. :D Safety first! I'm not quite sure what Gustav's story is but I think it envolves a very handsome man with chestnut hair?...Maybe you should tell that one too.

Aw, I really really loved this! As always, you never disappoint. I got excited by the mention of Pushing Daisies (which I really liked btw!) so I was sure I was going to like this one too. Very well written and detailed and lovely dialogue, lovely characters, bittersweet feeling all along, as it should be.

This is the end? *cries* I wanted more! *pouts* I just loved the progression of this chapter, from Gustav's intervention, which was so mysterious. To the way Tom revealed his secret to Bill and Bill's reaction to it, which was both heartbreaking and completely understandable after all these years of not knowing what happened. I'm glad Bill returned to Tom's side and that he found a way. I'm really intrigued over Gustav's story, though. Hee. Anyway, loved this and would love if you write more of it, if you ever feel inclined. Thanks for the awesome story. :)

Oh my goodness. This was an amazingly sad, wonderful, informative chapter
I am a bit curious though, if the universe has to remain in balance, and takes alife of something/one else when he 'saves' someone/thing, then why would the 'gift' work the wayit does by taking the life he gives back, away if he touches them again. That kinda seems like it would throw the Universe for a loop. Unless Tom, in his state of shock or w/e you want to call it, just drew conclusions where they didn't exist. How would he know a mouse somewhere nearby died when he resurrected one, or that the neighbor's flowers died because he touched his own, or w/e....you see what I'm getting at? I dunno...its pretty late it might nott make too much sense...
Wonderful work though. Stupid 9 not taking one minute to tell Bill what was up. I don't know if that would've made Bill not go t Georg's or not, but thats sorta beside the point.
Keep up the wonderful work. I can't wai to see more!
Author's Response: Ahhh you have a really good point. I didn't invent this talent, but drew inspiration for it from somewhere else, and something like that wasn't explained. I think it's kind of a conflict, a person with this talent touching someone or something that is supposed to be dead, I don't know, perhaps like dividing by zero. (LOL) He'd be putting them back in the state of which they belong I would suppose, but I would assume the person or thing that died in their original place would be paying for the time the dead person had alive on Earth, and when the originally dead person dies again, it's in place of the other person's would be death I would assume. Kind of works in a circle? Haha, over analysing hurts my head. @__@

D: LOLOLOL of course they do~ It's, as for Tom not calling, he felt too sick (bad throat), and it was easier to send his sister since he's literally right next door. As for Bill not calling home, I could come up with several plausible excuses, but what I wanted here was to emphasise his determination to make his own decisions and do things well on his own. (Assume he was still miffed with Tom's absence as well.)
Haha, I thought they might be okay, but now that you're okay with the lack of italics (which I should suggest makes things hard. I hate reading entire chunks in italics D:) I'm glad I don't have to change anything~ :D
