Wow! What a powerful chapter! It was great to see this side of Tom and get to know him just a bit more. It saddens me so much that his mother is gone and I wish she could be there for him. I think it was huge that he went to her grave and Bill was amazing and so supportive.
I was very, very surprised by the letter that Gordon had left Tom. It was exactly what Tom needed to hear, I think, and I am so glad he opened it. Gordon would have never gotten the father of the year award, but I think it was good for him to write to Tom. Gave them both closure, I think.
I was so happy that this wasn't the last chapter! I know the end is coming, but I'm looking forward to see what has happened to these two, and everyone else.
I love this so much and I'm sure I'm going to re-read it over and over again. THANK YOU! for this wonderful story and I can't wait to read the epilogue.
Author's Response: Thank you!! I tried to put myself in Tom's shoes and I realized how unsure he would be about his future when his past was still looming over him. Good thing he had Bill to accompany him on those hard errands. It was cool having Bill be supportive of Tom instead of the other way around like it often has been in this story. The tables have turned! I agree that Tom got closure from the letter. Gordon was honest with him and it was a bit harsh, but he did give Tom a chance at a great life.

Super. Bill is just like a rock for Tom every time he needs him: reading Tom's father letter, visiting his mom, that old friend and so on. plus the time where they live together - they're boyfriends like no others. and of course i can't wait for the last chapter

You know, I think of all these wonderful things to say when I am reading, and then I get distracted or draw up a blank when I get to the box to leave a review. We will call it "Great Expectations" with no relation to the Dickens story- great work though; totally irrelevant to what I need to say. I feel like I should give you something sound since I leave retarded things most of the time, seeing as this is the next to last chapter in a story that I hold so near to my heart. That's right- I do hold it near and dear. Not because of the author- you- whom I know and love for the person that you are; but this story. THIS STORY! This story can change lives, and already has. I don't have to be a rocket scientist or a creeper reading all your reviews to know that everyone that has left a review has said many a nice thing about this peice of art. It is rare for me to find such gems on here, wishing that it was in print format so I could shelve it on my very most favorite bookshelf with the likes of Erma Bombeck-because that's where it would go. Right next to my very most favorite books. These charachters are so real, you gave them such a life- so wise and full of wisdom- scoff if you like, I mean it. Perhaps I am a bit spoiled, knowing you outside the website, but you know, often I'd be reading this, and think, "Yeah, Kirsten would say that..." and you know what? You're just logic. Okay? Just logic.

Otis was...odd, but kinda cool. Props to the old guy for being cool with the homosexuality.
I'm glad we got to meet Tom's mom, and see a slightly better side of Gordon. I mean, he was a jerk in the letter;saying he didn't think he ever loved Tom, but at least he was sorry for the way he was and gave Tom the gift of faith (and a bit of money/asset)
I'm glad Gus found himself a ladymate, and that Tom figured out what he wants to do with himself. Now he can get himself together. I'm also proud Bill is getting his paper published.

that's it. they need to add a cemetery warning on here. i cannot handle either twin talking to a dead person in a cemetery. *wipes eyes* but omg, that little bird was such a sign from simone!!! her favorite color? and blue eyes? a blue bird??? hellooooo!!!
i guess i should hate gordon for saying he never really loved tom, but you know what? at least he was honest. most of the time, it's "i did always love you, son, and i'm so proud of you." but no. gordon didn't love him at all, but he respected him. that's massive, in my opinion. well done on that part.
and now tom will open a garage and be all successful, and bill's paper will be published and he'll be all successful...and perhaps gustav and his new woman can travel the country competing in eating contests. and they'll be all successful.
i was kinda sad about this story ending, but now i have another chapter to look forward to. so really you're just prolonging my sadness. thanks, sis!

Do you know how amazing you are for giving us an extra chapter?! Well, you definitely are!!
I was actually so nervous for the epilogue, partly because I don’t want this all to end but also because I was nervous for the boys and how they would go about starting a life together without the fighting.
I’m really relieved that neither of them have heard from Bushido and the guys ever since, life is much more peaceful without them, they definitely do not need those guys bothering them while getting their lives back on track.
Bill graduated and his thesis might get published, wow! I’m so proud of him! Turns out that the fighting was not only good for bringing Tom in his life, but it also gave him a great start for his career!
No matter how much Tom hates it, I’m having way too much fun picturing him as a little house wife, wearing an apron while cooking dinner for Bill! :D
I felt so frustrated for Tom it really can’t be easy for him hearing how things are happening for Bill while he doesn’t know what to do with his life yet. But I’m glad they are talking about it, it makes it a whole lot easier if you have someone to discuss your troubles with and to get their perspective on things. Besides, it would only cause friction between them… though knowing the boys, having arguments lead to hot make up sex. ;)
Tom is such a strong person, not only physical but also mentally. He showed Bu kindness after the fight and now, instead of ignoring it, he comes back to deal with his father. My heart hurt for him when he admitted to how much he needed his mother and then again when he read that his father never loved him. But he has Bill to talk about and to sort things through and the fact that he’s able to talk about it instead of bottling it all up reassures me that he will be okay.
And yes, their future is looking extremely bright! I’m so so proud of them both!
I have to say, I’m quite curious to see if what happened with Bushido, I personally think it would be hilarious if he ends up working for Tom as his cleaner in the shop or something. A job in which Tom can command Bushido around! :D
Also… Gus found love! *squeals* this makes me so happy, he deserves it!! :D

Tom was really sad in this chapter but I can understand that when it comes to all those issues with his past and it's really great that he got that letter from his dad and that he might be able to move on now and have a great job and be happy with Bill. I believe in them, being happy together and making the most of life. They are lucky they have one another. I want a Tom too! :'( *sniffs* ignores the fact that he's dating Ria... don't even wanna think about her!!! --- Bill is so lucky to have Tom, but then I'd say that Tom is even luckier to have Bill, not to mean it in a bad or negative way but Tom has really needed this lovely support that he's recieved from Bill.... Bill was so mature and supportive here, doing whatever Tom needed in order to help him as best as he could... They are perfect for one another. I hope Tom will be more positive in the future, because of course Bill can't be the supportive partner all the time, but it's fair that Tom needs to heal right now and get going with his life and that takes time and it's wonderful to know that Bill will be by his side. Always.

That's the great thing about a healthy relationship; you each take your turn being the shoulder to lean on. Tom has been a tough guy his whole life and he had to grow up really fast. So now he's dealing with things that he had ignored for so long and Bill is just doing all he can to help him stay strong. This chapter was more emotional to me than anything else, but there were some fun parts too... As you know, GUSTAV is so easy to love... Gustav feeling like it's destiny because he found a girl that loves to eat so much food like he does is fucking hilarious but there might be some kind of connection because as said; "a way to a man's heart is through his stomach"... or something like that :D and if he enjoys to eat tacos etc. and he finds company... and it's some great girl who's sweet and eats a lot too, then there might be something for them ... like the love they share for eating way too much and too unhealthy way too often... but hey, they're amazing the way they are... just hope they take care of themselves :P Gustav is great... Love him.
