I haven't exactly figured out why Tom's parents abandoned him yet. It'll come with time but if you're really getting into this stoyr just be warned it'll be a long one.

I never liked stories like that either. I prefer for a relationship to develop natrually as the people learn to open up to each other.

Yeah I have always loved stories that start liek that with a chance meeting and everything just kind of falls into place afterward. It always struck me as a what if situation. I'm glad someone recognized that literary device.
