I really don't know where to start reviewing this chapter. Even though you've run some of it by me before so I knew a bit of what to expect the reality was so much more intense than I expected. You are so good at all the emotional stuff and the detail is amazing. I totally loved the flashback and the parallels between Tom looking after little Bill and to him caring for grown up Bill, and that line 'Tom never thought the day would come when hugs and kisses couldn't be enough to make his baby brother feel better' was just heart wrenching. I am so happy that Tom really stepped up and is taking care of his little brother. It was so sad when Bill was all up in his head and came on to Adam. Thank God Adam is so caring and loves Bill so much like a brother that he wouldn't dream of taking advantage like that. And the gun scene...damn, talk about suspense. Although I hate Gordon with a dark and fiery passion, and I know he's just as bad if not worse than Saki, I kind of like that he's about to double cross Saki because that man is so fucking twisted and just plain evil with the way he treated Bill. The news report was also a really inspired way of having them discover what Gordon had been doing to scare them and that he was hunting for Bill. Oh, and dear Adam, having to watch that horrific video. I am so happy he's asking Lena for help; he needs her support just as much as he needs her advice in helping Bill. So, yeah, all in all a truly incredible chapter. I can't wait for the next one.

Author's Response: Wow!!! I'm almost speechless so give me a second here. I honestly hated this chapter when I got done and did a quick read through. Mostly, because I just don't know which turn it's going to take at times and I'm trying not to reveal too much, but feel like I am. It's almost as if I don't know how to be elusive enough. Haha, but this review really has me wanting to get started on the next chapter. I can never thank you enough!! It'll probably take me a little longer to get the next one up because I think this story is probably nearly done. Maybe two more long chapters, then a short epilogue leading into the sequel. This thing just won't die in my head. So, yeah, thank you once more for all of your wonderful support and your friendship. I don't know what inspires some of this shit, but I'm glad people are enjoying it!! Oh, and you'll find out later when I have a chance to email you that my Lena character was inspired by a woman in my favorite t.v. show, Sons Of Anarchy!! Lol. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I know how hard you worked on this chapter and the problems you had with losing work etc. But it really shows that you put so much into it. I also know you were worried you'd put in too much medical detail, but honestly I think you got it just about right. There was a lot of intimate detail but the physical trauma was balanced out by all the emotional trauma that was behind Bill's injuries. I also know you thought maybe you'd portrayed Bill as too weak, but he fought Adam like crazy for the syringe and he said no a couple of times during the exams. He's extrememly vulnerable and sick both from his injuries and the fever and the withdrawal so I don't see how he couldn't be anything but fragile. I really loved this, sweetie. Adam is amazing,firm when he needs to do the tests, but being understanding and sympathetic. Tom was a prick but I suppose his drinking is kind of understandable because he must feel so guilty, so responsible that he didn't act sooner to get Bill out of there, but hopefully he'll get his act together a bit now. Natalie was protective as usual, and Anis was supportive as he always is. Poor, poor Bill, I teared up because after he accepted he wasn't getting the drug he was being so brave letting Adam examine him and he finally admitted to someone what had been going on at the Playhouse...that had to have been scary for him so he was really courageous. The ending was great too, showing what Gordon's been up to...and the plans he has which will impact so badly on Bill, Tom and the others because he won;t give up his empire without a fight. So, yes, it was totally worth all the hassle you had to get this finished. Hope you've already started on the next chapter...Okay, you're allowed a day off, but just one. LOL!!!!!!

Author's Response: Thank you,as always. I was so frustrated when writing this chapter, but so far I have gotten good responses. I have already started on the next one because I think I know exactly where it is going and Lord I want to wrap this thing up soon, because the sequal is looking so much better in my head. I have to keep Adam the toughest, I think, because in my head, he and Tom probably have the most to lose in all of this. Don't worry, Tom comes to his senses and very quickly, which is definitely needed for this chapter I'm working on now. I really want to hone in on what Gordon is doing in this next chapter and work on a really dramatic scene that pulls Bill, Tom and even Adam in all the closer. I think you know what I'm talking about here, so there will be a lot of switching back and forth between what's going on with Gordon and then how everyone on lock down at Anis' house are handling the entire situation and then set up for a plan to action for the next chapter and wrap it up in two more with getting everyone to safety, and then hopefully a trial. See what you do to me woman?? You have me thinking about this shit already and it's early and I have two sick kids and bills to go pay....I will blab to you later via email, dear, but for now, thank you so much for your amazing review and standing by me through this really hard to write story, LOL!!! OMG. I'm practically sobbing here. This was all so sad, especially the very last bit. It's a good job Tom isn't there with Adam to witness Bill shooting up. Sweetie, you did an amazing job writing this up. I know you already went through some of it with me but your writing has brought it all to life and its so emotional and full of tension. Its incredible how all the little things fit together, like Bill putting the junk in his pocket and then managing to smuggle it into the bathroom while he's getting changed, and I had totally forgotten about Saki's video camera; so clever of you to work it back into the plot. Tom's heart must really be breaking at Bill's rejection and his refusal to be helped. He doesn't realise yet that Bill's suffered all this to keep Tom safe...I think that will really break Tom if he finds that out. You have to get on with the next chapter, my dear, because I'm aching to read what happens next.
