awww... i loved derreck!! i'm guessing that the reason tom didn't drink the water was so that he would be reincarnated as a woman, have babies with bill and then drink it?

Author's Response: Hee, glad you loved Derrick! He's actually one of my favorite original characters xD Ooh, perhaps that's why he didn't drink it yet. That is a very likely possibility, actually. :) Thanks for reading!

Whoa, the ending was like Tuck Everlasting all over again, d*mmit.
He should have drank the water. D:

Author's Response: ahhh, but unlike Tuck Everlasting Bill will meet Tom/his twin/whomever time and time again... and perhaps later on Bill can convince him to drink it. Don't be too sad over it. ;) Anyway, thank you for reading. :)

I read this story once, where this kid traveled, like, a century back in time by touching a fucking water pump. Omg XD *smiles*

Bittersweet ending, that ;_; I almost cried in earnest. Made me depressed for a while, but then I came to terms with it. I did dearly want Tom to drink it, since I can think of few (if any) curses more horrible than living forever, watching all your family, and any friends you make, die over the years. Having his twin with him permanently, in a single form, would have eased that existence, I believe.

*shrug* Perhaps in some lifetime his twin will drink the water...

Actually, this has reminded me of Tuck Everlasting, where the girl could have become immortal with the boy, but in the end she chose to grow old and die as a mortal instead.

All that said, this was a very beautifully written (and sad) story.

Author's Response: XDD I was hoping a few of you would pick up on that little insert, haha. Yeah, I usually write the typically happy ending, but with this plot... I don't know, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I think when faced with the opportunity to live forever, a lot of people would be much more unwilling to choose to live for all eternity than most of us choose to believe. I mean, I too think living forever is one of the worst curses one can endure, and yet so many people spice the idea up to be so much more than it really is, I think. But YES, there is always that possibility that his twin will drink the water in the future. Although this was the end of the story on here, it's not like the tale really ends here. Ahhh, yeah, I ran into trouble a couple times throughout the story where I'd say to myself, "Wait, no, I can't do that, there's a scene practically identical to this in Tuck Everlasting." -_- Anyhow, despite the bit of sadness every now and then, I'm glad you liked the rest of it. Thank you so, so much for reading.

:O What a twist. Or I guess it's just a surprise. I had assumed his twin's reincarnations were all male.

Tom remembered one of the names :D

Wait, what? Bill left his kids? I mean... I understand the need to avoid suspicion, but... That's unfortunate.

Wait, "always had to leave"... Even Tom couldn't know? ...O.O Is this the first time he's told Tom/Karl/Benjamin/Amelia, etc. that he's immortal?

And *heart* at the last line.

Author's Response: I had actually originally planned to have the twin always be reincarnated as a male, and then one day I was like, "What if..." And, well, that changed. :P And, yes, he's had to leave his kids, sometimes on his own accord and other times because Amelia/Elisabeth/whoever, when she left, she'd take the kids with her becaaaaaause Bill has tried telling Tom/Karl/Amelia/etc. before, but always with no avail. Though, he only got around to telling a few of them in the past, and he/she would always think him crazy and leave, hence why Bill's always so unwilling to share the story with Tom&co. *sigh* There's quite a bit more, like this, that I wanted to include and better explain in the story, but I ran out of time, unfortunately. :( Ah, well, reviews are where you guys can ask the questions like this. :) Thanks for reading and reviewing, by the way. It means a lot to me!

Bill reluctantly realized that this time, maybe he truly had lost Tom. :'( I take it, then, that this is the version of his twin who has thus been most resistant to the truth.

"all of which are mine by the way -- Lol

Props for Derrick! :)

They both jumped slightly, though, when the news broke to commercial, a loud, obnoxious infomercial jingle breaking into the room. -- Heh, commercials playing louder than the actual program... It's why you usually need the remote nearby.

I understand them both, about Tom wanting proof of Bill's healing. It would be irrefutable proof, but yeah, like Bill said, it's not a thing to show off.

Mm, so Tom mostly believes him..

Author's Response: Stupid commercials -_-' eh, you can't blame Tom for not instantly believing Bill, can you? I think, somehow, I'd still be weary about the whole thing..

I have to say, I was all bodily tensed along with Tom when he was examining that photograph. And who is that woman?

:( at Bill's sad story, specifically the beginning again. How horrible that he didn't get the seemingly eternalizing water to Tom (Karl, rather) before he died ;_;

So what I'm getting is that his twin's spirit is reincarnated instantly after death of the previous version. It's just a pity for Bill that he has to wait twenty or so years between.

And (at the end) oh, no! D: Poor Bill

Author's Response: Oops, never really did get to who that woman was. :x just who Bill was all buddy-buddy with at the time. And I know, that twenty or so year span for Bill must be the worst every time. ;__;

Oh, so Bill had a sexual relationship with his original twin. Lol, hey, I don't presume these things. A few fics I've read, they were just normal brothers.

And despite only knowing Bill for a couple months, it felt like he had known him for his entire life, and that scared Tom beyond his wildest dreams. -- Aww *heart*

If he had stayed only a few moments longer, he would have seen Bill wipe a light layer of sweat from his forehead and release a heavy sigh of utter relief. -- Hmm...

*sad smile* I'm glad Tom is having these flashbacks. Maybe he'll realize...

Oh gosh, this is starting to hurt D: And I bet it will be more heartbreaking before it ends.

Author's Response: Ehhh, not necessarily a sexual relationship per se, but they were a tad more friendly with one another than your average set of twins. ;) And yes, unfortunately, a bit more heartbreak ahead...

How strange. There's definitely something odd going on here.

The beginning is so sad ;_;

Hehe, I kinda like reincarnation stories, if this is what it is.

Author's Response: I know, I was worried about how many people I'd scare away starting off like that ;_; but I went with it anyway. And yup, that's exactly what this is... with a bit of a twist ;)

Oh... I thought you were just retelling the part where Bill got the water when he left for America originally. Then it turned out that Tom didn't take the opportunity after all or whatever happened, since he's once more reincarnated.

It's sad that Bill couldn't stay with Tom but unfortunately he's used to it, although Tom was the one who knew.

It was a lovely story. I thoroughly enjoyed it, Amy

*hugs*
Maria

Author's Response: Yes, the ending's not the most desired, I know, but we can't always have a happy ending. But thank you, Maria, I'm so glad you liked it. *hugs*

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect when I began reading this story but I must say, you have exceeded my expectations.

I've read a few of your other fics before this and I knew, that I was in for a treat when I saw this story. You are a wonderful writer and I truly believe that this is a work of art.

I honestly couldn't bare to go through what Bill has had to go through in the past hundreds of years. It is heartbreaking that he has had to live so long without ever having anyone to live with him forever.

I was very much saddened by the ending, knowing that Tom decided to not drink the water.

Although, it was nice to have Bill find his soulmate again even though in time, he would eventually have to leave her as well.

Brilliant story! Definitely being added to my favourite's. =]

Author's Response: Oh my, thank you so much for all of your kind words, I'm blushing over here. :3 I'm so happy you liked it.

This was such a good story! It made me sad that at the end Tom didn't choose to drink the water to be with Bill :/ but I guess they'll always be reunited. And that part about the kid with the water pump made me laugh :)

Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, exactly, there will always be that little silver lining, that bit that Bill can always look forward to when he's feeling alone, y'know? And ha, glad you picked up on that bit ;)
