Cool story! I really enjoyed reading about the relationships between Bill and Tom. There was something very calm and poignant about them.
The ending is unexpected. I wish Tom took Bill on his offer.
Great story!

What a tragic and happy existence Bill lives. On the one hand he knows he'll always have Karl, but on the other hand, he has to leave him and watch him die over and over again. This was a really interesting story and I loved it!

Wow, I really loved this story! Though I was kind of sad that Tom apparently didn't drink the water in the end.. Any particular reason why you didn't want that to happen? =) But, none the less, loved the story! And the ending, too, finding another 'Tom'! =)

OH MY GOD I'M TEARING UP.
I just read this thing all in one shot, and omg why doesn't it have more reads/reviews/whatever? This is not only the most original thing I've read from Big Bang but probably the most original thing on the site. I'm so sad I didn't find this when it first came out, but I kind of stopped looking at the Big Bang page after the first two or three days, since I posted mine up the day of and didn't look back really.
My god okay you had me wondering throughout this whole thing what was actually going the fuck on. I mean, I got the whole reincarnation thing right away, and I think that's genius and I have yet to see another fic on here use reincarnation at all, so huge kudos for that. And then Bill's forever young and invulnerable to anything and I was wondering, like, geez is this going to be a stupid vampire thing going on? But it wasn't and I'm very happy for that and it's just really good.
I mean, there's kind of a really strong relation to Tuck Everlasting going on with the immortality and invulnerability and water in general, but it's not too strong and I didn't really realize it until I started thinking of books/movies this reminds me of. And Tuck Everlasting is totally a favorite of mine anyway and I love it - and I love that the ending is kind of the same: Tom and Winnie didn't drink the water at the end even though they considered it. Am I right in guessing that may have been a strong influence on this? But besides that, even though that's kind of been done, what really threw me off from realizing that right away was the reincarnation thing, which is again really great, and it kind of makes me think of The Time Traveler's Wife even though there's nothing like that in there, or I don't know.
Something about this is really strong and really beautiful and I love this so, so much.
Author's Response: Aww, thank you! Oh god, I probably would've slapped myself if I had sat down and written a vampire story. They're just... not my thing. But, yeah, people keep bringing up Tuck Everlasting. I mean, yes, the resemblance is there, obviously. I tried to avoid it as best I could as I was writing, since this story started out rather differently. The whole water thing, though, that's a tale as old as time - the whole "fountain of youth" desire that so many people search for. Anyhow, actually, no; Winnie not drinking the water didn't influence Tom not drinking it. I deliberated on whether or not to have Tom drink the water up until the very last day of writing. Then I was weighing my two options, and the thought of this college boy just giving in and drinking the water seemed so... unlikely. Farfetched. (Haha, as though everything in this story ISN'T farfetched?) The idea of the prologue with Tom reincarnated again just felt better, you know? And it's been a hit or miss with the people who have taken the time to read this (a BIG miss for a handful, unfortunately), but I'm so glad you liked it! Thank you for taking the time to read and leave such a thoughtful review. Much appreciated. :D

Y'know...somehow I knew that what was going to happen. I had hoped and prayed that it wasn't....It was a beautiful love story. And it almost has hte feel of a beautiful unrequited love story...but I'm not so sure that love had anything to do with Tom's decision. I certainly hope it didn't. Is it horrible that I kind of hope he died in a tragic accident, and that he didn't choose to not stay with Bill?....Or maybe, Bill didn't leave, as Tom asked, maybe they just lived a long and happy life together. I would be really interested in finding out what happened with them. Wonderful work dear.

Wait, what? Oh, this is so sad :(
I really thought Tom would do it, poor poor Bill.
Though, I have to say I loved how you made the ending, it's unsuspected and heartbreaking.
I loved it!
I would love a small one/two-piecestory that explains what happens with Bill and Tom.
Author's Response: Aww, well I'm glad you loved the ending, then! Even if it is a little sad. And hmm... perhaps I shall fix something like that up sometime... we'll see ;) Thanks for reading and leaving a review!

Nooooooooo!
Damn it! I was totally loving this till the end. Tom should have drank the water and stayed. *whines*
I did love this story though and I love the water pump mention. Love that story too.
Author's Response: He might in the future, so there's always that happy ending possibility dangling at the end of the tunnel. ;) Buuuuuut I'm glad you loved the rest of it, save the very end, and that you caught that little reference xD thanks for reading and leaving a review!

Very good story, very original and all but I didn't like the ending... Because of this I instantly stopped to like Tom - he knew the truth about Bill and himself yet he chose not to stay with him and left him, knowing at the same time how hard Bill's life was. Seems like Tom's feeling weren't just as strong - it's saddening for me because I was hoping it's a story about a perfect love but turned out it was one-sided perfection.
It was a really good story though, just totally not for me.
Author's Response: Thank you, and I'm sorry you didn't like the ending. I had originally planned on having Tom drink the water and stay with Bill forever, but part of me wouldn't let me write it that way. I just couldn't see a twenty-something year old kid, even after knowing all of this, choose his entire future at such an age and choose to live forever. At least, I couldn't see Tom doing that. Saying that, there's always the possibility that once reincarnated, he/she might be a bit more daring and jump on the opportunity. Living forever, even if for love, isn't the most desired life for some. Though, I can see how you feel as though Tom wasn't as strong or didn't love Bill enough to take it, but I think his reasons for not choosing to drink the water lay outside his love for Bill. Anyway, even though it's not quite your cup of tea in the end, thank you for taking the time to read this. :)

to be honest I regret I have read it, doesn't matter how good this story was and how much I enjoyed almost all chapters. since now I will first read the last chapter of stories, even if it will destroy me a bit whole plot, don't want to feel so sad and low because fanfic ever again, don't care how childish it sound
Author's Response: Again, I'm truly sorry it's upset you. I know some endings to books and stories can leave me feeling down for days, but there are silver linings to some of those unhappy endings, I've learned, and we can't always have a happy ending. I'm glad you had enjoyed the other chapters, though, and thank you for taking the time to read the story, even though the ending wasn't one of the happiest.

oh, it didn't finish I was hoping it will.... I can't say I'm happy about it..it was so very beautiful and interesting, so bad that it finished in this way, very dissapointing.
Author's Response: I'm sorry it didn't quite end how you wanted it to. But it's not all a sad ending - there's the possibility that Tom's character/this girl he's been reincarnated into might drink the water. There are always those possibilities.

I've to admit I cried a little bit at the end. I understand Tom's decision, it must be scary to live forever and see everybody around you dying over and over again, even just thinking about spending all eternity with someone is scary. You just don't know when you'll stop loving that person so there were a possibility of of them being alone at some ponit. A part of me is still sad about his decision, tho. I can't stand the idea of Tom getting older and older and Bill eventually letting him go. At least I hope Bill was with him until the very end, Tom knew about his past so there was no reason to runaway this time.
Besides all of this, the ending was great. If this was my story I'd most probably end it the same way, even if a part of me, at the end, was hoping for Tom to appear by Bill's side saying "No, you definitely never met him!" or something close to that.
Great story!
Author's Response: It can't be the most flattering of circumstances, to live forever. Though there are upsides to it, I feel like the downsides highly outweigh the positives. But, I do fancy the thought that Tom spent his forever with Bill, at least that's how I imagined it happening. Ah, yay, I'm so happy you thought the ending was great! I know endings that aren't the typical, run-of-the-mill, "and they lived happily ever after" endings, they aren't really everyone's cup of tea, so I'm afraid I've disappointed quite a handful of readers by taking the story that way. But, at least some of you preferred it, which I'm thankful for, truly. :) And no worries, a part of me would have loved for Tom to pop out and say something like that in the ending, haha. Anyhow, thank you so much for reading!
