I would have liked to know if they ever got caught for both of the 'incidents' but I really enjoyed the story it touched my heart and gave me a spark.I couldn't wait to know what happened next when I went to school I waited all say to go home or got to the bathroom and just had to see what would happen next it was one of the best Tom and Bill stories there is!Keep writing and follow your dreams -destiny

Loved the slow pacing and the characters. Thought the ending was a bit abrupt and maybe a bit too perfectly happy to match the rest of the story. But you really wrote the Tom character very well. It was obvious he should have been a normal, healthy, sweet boy, and that the abuse he endured cracked his emotional foundation. The ending left me wondering how long he'd live with his new family before the damages bubbled up and created problems.
A couple of little things that really stood out: when Bill mentioned the butler getting electroshock therapy, but was joking, and Tom knowing that if he heard this from someone on the streets, it would be no joke. In one tiny reflection, this showed the exposure he'd had to poverty, and the traumatized folk who live in it.
And the fact that he immediately thought about Bill's father in a sexual way, and so casually, was another intense flash of Tom's existence in and acceptance of the seedy side of life.
The pacing and details of the story were excellent. This was really Tom's tale, and from the shoplifting to the denial of his own tears to the complete acceptance of his life as shit, it was an excellent emotional and psychological description of someone living in poverty and abuse.
He'd need a lot of counseling to adjust to the normal life he suddenly finds himself in.

Author's Response: Hey Mizu, I know the end seemed like a huge contrast to everything else, and originally Tom was supposed to move on from Bill, but... he'd been through so much already and I ready thought he deserved some happiness. Sort of making it all worth it? If he can handle it we don't know and maybe he will break up and leave, but at least he'll have a place to return to. It was such a nice story. I always appreciate how "European" your stories seem to be, something awfully real and therefore highly entertaining to read. Street wise Tom was almost scary sometimes, but totally charming and Bill... oh, he had such a big heart. The way how they bonded immediately was so lovely.
Great story, lovely ending.

This was such a painful and sad story for Tom and he took it all so casually, which I guess made it even harder to read those things happening to him. But Bill deciding to go with him, when he didn't even have to and could have come home at any time to his father's house, made the story so sweet. I really enjoyed the two of them together and your story, as well. ♥

I really liked this story, a lot happened there, not only happy events so it wasn't cheesy at all. In fact I was quite surprised how natural this story went and I adore both Tom's and Bill's personalities. You pictured them so well!
I'd love to hear you're going to write a sequel but don't know if you're planning to write one because what could it be about really? (Hope you would think about something though)
Anyway, sequel or not, it was a really great fic to read! Thank you!
Author's Response: You're quite right. I'm not planning on writing a sequel. It would just be another high school story. Besides, their lives sort of becomes normal after this. The journey is over and for Tom, he can finally try and get back to having a normal life again. No stepdad to press him to leave his home from time to time and Bill is living just a minute's walk away. But... one can never know if I suddenly get the urge to go back to this story.
