I've mentioned this on other reviews: I came into the TH / THF fandom in Jan’22. The vast majority of fics I've read are quite old and I'm sure the authors have moved on (and probably wont even see new reviews), BUT I figure why not leave one anyway… I enjoyed this fic and wanted to say thank you for writing and sharing it!

I just read this whole thing in a day. This is my worst fear and my biggest dream all wrapped up in 12 chapters. I guess I am like Tom and Bill in a way (in this story) and this was amazing to read. I don't like melancholy endings, but this was perfect. You did an amazing job, and thank you:) you are amazing!

Great story, I enjoyed it a lot :) The ending was a bit sad but realistic, and I liked that. Good job!

Are you planning on a sequel? Cause I would love to read it, it seems such a shame to leave it at this.. =)
Author's Response: I'm afraid that I'm not right now. Thank you for thinking it was good enough to deserve on though! :3

I loved this story! I was a bit skeptical at first, but you kept the characters in character the entire time. I think it would be a great idea for you to write a follow-up story!
Author's Response: Awhh thank you! I'm glad that you gave it a chance and I didn't disappoint. :D I don't have any plans for a sequel right now, but I will bear it in mind. Thanks again. :3

Reading this...I am reminded that hate breeds hate.
Author's Response: It really does and it's tragic that things like this actually happen.

Nooooo. Oh well, I guess it really had to end this way, realistically thinking. It's too bad life can't be a fairy tale sometimes, isn't it? Anyway, I've enjoyed reading, and it really makes me mad to know people like Tom's dad in this story really exist.
Author's Response: Yeah, for it to be realistic I'm afraid this really was the only possible ending. It's definitely too bad that life can't be a fairy tale. I'm glad you like it and I know, it makes me madder than I can even explain. Thanks for reviewing!

ahhh! great great story, but is there a sequel? I hope so!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I'm glad you liked it. No, I'm afraid there won't be a sequel.

Poor Tom. What total jerks. despicable ppl.
Author's Response: They really are the worst type of person.

they are acting pretty mature for teenage boys. =)
Author's Response: Well, my idea is that they're probably in the same year as I am, so they're 17/18. But still, they're handling it well although they don't really have a choice but to get on with it. :)

LOL, Simone cracks me up.
Author's Response: She's brilliant! xD

I hope I would be as compassionate as Bill.
Author's Response: I would love to be as compassionate as Bill, but I'm not sure if I would be.

Good for Bill. He handled himself so well.
Author's Response: He did indeed. :D

I feel kind of bad for Tom, but on the other hand, he should just flat out refuse. I would. But maybe its not that easy.
Author's Response: It's definitely not that easy for him, as you'll find out. Until you're in that situation though, I guess you can't really say what you'd do.

So only after Tom was in a hospital Bill was able to see the reality? Better later than never, though I'm a bit disappointed with him still.
It was a good story with the only fitting ending, thank you!
Author's Response: Definitely better late than never!
Awh, I'm glad you liked the ending! Thank you for reviewing :]

"He felt as though he was being selfish and was asking for too much, but he knew that he wasn’t."
Oh , but he was. It's easy to want something from someone when you know it won't make you any harm but where is any empathy for this other person? Was Bill even thinking that Tom's coming out could make him a lot of problems with his father, the only person who could support him until he was an adult? Bill had fairly easy life, sure he was encountering hate and intollerance from some people but he could forget about it at home. Tom probably wouldn't have this luxury, if he would even have a home after this. Of course being someone's "dirty secret" could be annoying but it wasn't exactly a matter of cowardice that was stopping Tom, more like a self-preservation instinct. Bill for sure deserved better than this but so did Tom - didn't he deserve a person who would understand him? What was more important for Bill, Tom or being able to show off with a boyfriend in public? It's easy to see that nothing is black or white and no one is 100 % right here.
Author's Response: You know what? I actually adore this review! I hadn't thought of it like that, but you're 100% right. Although, I completely feel for Bill - I know what it's like having someone who acts like they don't know you in public and it really does hurt. You're right in saying that Tom deserved better though. No, they've both done things not quite right, but unfortunately that's how relationships go. Thanks for your review. :]

Ehh, poor Tom, caught in the web of misunderstandings. I'm disappointed with Bill though, he obviously can't see that he's not better than his enemies - also fast with his judgement and not caring whether he's right or not.
Author's Response: Hmmm, we have very different opinions on Bill. xD That's all right though, it's interesting having someone feel that Bill's in the wrong. Thank you for your review. :)

"it was to be expected. Bill hated him."
And what happened to "no hate"? Didn't it apply to everyone?
Author's Response: *shrugs* How would you react if you were Bill? I know that he was wrong, but if I was him I don't think I would want anything to do with Tom either. In fact, I -know- I wouldn't.
