very good story, my favourite of yours. people are hating other because of so many different reasons, sexual orientation, dressing style, body mass, it can be anyhing and there is nothing that can be really done about it, it's sad. I think ending was pretty understandable and logic, any other would be odd, like if love alone could give in some miracle way a home, food and education to a person.
I general I dislike people like Tom, because I truly hate pretending someone who you are not, but he had a good reason for being like this. it wasn't because he was stupid teenage trying to impress his friends, he simply had to, didn't have anyother choice if he didn't want to finish homeless. good job!
are you planning a sequel maybe?

Author's Response: Awhh thank you! I'm really glad that you enjoyed it. :] It's very sad, but unfortunately it's the world which we live in. You would have hoped that we'd have gotten past it by now. We haven't though and I don't think we will have for a while yet. Like you said, if it's not sexual orientation, it will be something else. I'm super happy that you think that the ending was logical! A lot of people have said that they would have liked to see a happy ending, although I think I did the right thing by keeping it realistic. Sometimes there's just no other way.

I despise people who pretend to be something they're not, but again, he had no choice. He didn't want to end up homeless. Thank you for reviewing! :)

There's no plans for a sequel at the moment. Maybe at a later date, but not right now I'm afraid.

Sad ending :( I wanted them to be together. Hope there will be a sequel :)

Author's Response: Awhh, I think they'll get together eventually. I don't think there will be, but I'm happy that you wanted one! :) Thank you for reviewing!

So much of this story feels just like my own life.

Author's Response: Awhh sweetie *hugs* I'm sorry. :(

Hahaha @ "That's never stopped you before." I'm pretty sure that made my night.

Author's Response: Hahaha, I'm glad! :D

Fag-enabler? Wow, that's the first time I've heard that one. This is going to be interesting...

Author's Response: Mmhmm, that's actually a term that the Westboro Baptist Church use. It's ridiculous!

This is a gorgeous bittersweet story. Tom's situation was portrayed with sensitivity and it was interesting to see Bill treating Tom through the initial misunderstanding, with the same prejudice.

Hate makes love stronger. And this story deserves a sequel.

Author's Response: Awhh, thank you so much. :] I'm really glad that you felt I portrayed it with sensitivity; I wanted to do it justice because I'm well aware that there are many people who are actually in his situation.

I'm flattered that you think it deserves a sequel, although there are no plans for one at the moment. Thank you for reviewing! :]

*grimacy pout*....that was a really....depressing and isappointing ending...but it was rtue to life, and I normally appreciate a bit of that in fic...so....I'm just all confused on my thoughts of this...I loved everthing lse about it though.

Author's Response: Hmm, yeah, it is somewhat depressing although in my mind there's a glimmer of hope for them. That doesn't necessarily mean that you got it though. I'm glad that you liked everything else. :]

Oh my, here we go...

I just wanted to comment on one thing real quick, and then I'll save all of my blithering for the end. This line:

"They were the first ones Bill noticed. The ones that hated him just because he wanted to be able to walk down the street, hand in hand with another boy..."

This is called a hook, and it was remarkably well-placed. It sort of socks you in the head unexpectedly at the pause between chapters, making absolutely certain that whatever complacency you may have entered into this fic with, got left at the door before coming all the way inside.

This stood out for me and I needed to comment on it before I got to the good stuff and forgot it.

Author's Response: Ooh, okay...

Ahh, I'm really glad that you liked that line. I wanted to make it clear from the start that this story wasn't going to be a walk in the park for Bill.

Thanks, I look forward to seeing whatelse you have to say. :]

So not what I was expecting for an ending. I LOVE that. Things just don't always work out the way you want, no matter how bad you want them. Reality bites, and all that. Major kudos to you for going for the realistic ending.

Author's Response: Ahh, I'm glad you weren't expecting it! :] Unfortunately, sometimes they don't work out. Thank you. :]

Mm, just so you know. I'm not pointing out spelling errors because it's rude and I like making people feel like crap. Never. I do it with the purpose to help, and to help perfect the mechanics of a good story.

Also, I have mild autism, and often can't see an error without feeling the need to instinctually fix it or notify someone...

Author's Response: That's fine. I never thought that you wanted to make me feel crap, honest. :] It's fine; I should have probably checked through it more carefully. To be honest, by the time I posted this I'd had enough of it, so my checks weren't as thorough as they could have been.

Honestly, it's okay. You don't need to feel bad or anything. :]

You gotta be kidding me! I was hoping for a happy ending.... Although it sucks that they didn't get their happy ending, I can understand why you did it. It wouldn't have been right in a way... The ending was very sad and beautiful though, don't get me wrong xD I really liked the story.

Author's Response: Ahh, I know. I considered making it a happy ending, although I wanted it to be as realistic as possible, even if it killed me a little. xD Awwh, thank you, I'm glad that you liked it! :]

It's rude Zoe, and they know that. If you know something is rude and do it anyway? It becomes deliberate and is little better than a slap in the face. I disapprove.

In any case...I haven't read this yet, which is why I haven't reviewed. I got tied up real bad this weekend, but I will...I promise. And I won't care what you misspelled because unlike some, I can find more important things to comment on without having to be petty.

Author's Response: Hmm, yeah. Well, it's not my favourite thing to read in a review, but s'alright - I'm not going to cry about it or anything.

Ahh that's okay! I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing what you have to say. :]

I promis I'll read this story sooner or later but I'm really fragil right now and I don't think I can handle more hate stuff now. I really really want to read it though, so when this 'period'(if I can call heartbroken that) I'll read it. Cause this seems to be a story I can really relate to. I'm saving this for later !:))

Author's Response: Awwwh -hugs you tight- I hope things get better for you soon! D: Don't read it until you're ready. Thank you for letting me know though. :)

Wow! Fan-fuckin-tastic story! It's really a sad sad thing that this sort of thing actually goes on in the world. All of the hatred, not only against gays, but other discriminations, annoy the hell out of me. I can't believe this is over tho. It's too bad there isn't more to read =) I'd like to know the outcome of Bill & Tom's future ;(

Author's Response: Awhh, thank you! :D I know, nothing annoys me more than discrimination. The point is, if what someone's doing isn't hurting you, then you have absolutely no right to complain about it. Seriously, what people do in their own home is nobody's business except theirs. Awhh, sorry about that! Their future is really up to you. In my mind, once Tom had left school and was able to become financially independent, he and Bill got together. :]

Well, I can't say I was 100 percent ready for that ending. I am so use to the typical happy endings, but you are definietly right that life isn't a fairytale, and things don't always work out happily ever after...so I like this realistic aspect to your story (although, in my mind, I like to think that eventually they will end up together once Tom is finacially independent, lol XD) This was a great story and I enjoyed reading it.

Author's Response: Mmm, yeah, part of me really wanted to do a happy ending, but a bigger part wanted to make it as realistic as possible. That's fine! They ended up together eventually in my mind too! :D Awhh thank you, that means a lot that you enjoyed it! :D
