a bit o' shiny, eh? LOL, it sounds so funny to the modern mind, but...xD I really like this thing with Andrej, creepy merman beauty...awesome. I looooove that Bill is so in charge and dominant, and yet is still his little fashionista self :3 it's a bit horrible that Tom has to think his brother is dead, and even worse he thinks that Bill did it...oh, the irony.

ahhh, such contrast, Tom is so good and purely wants his brother back, but Bill...well, I suppose if he knew about Tom he'd probably want to see him, as well, but he's not so good...but seems more...adult. he's seen more. lovely old language :)

The pool scene with Bill and Andrej was so lovely and mm-mm hot. I’ll take Bill’s interrogation and torture techniques any day, please. I'd tell him anything he'd want to know...
And then the temptation of Tom, and poor Bill having to deal with finding out the truth. And the kiss. *__* Gah, this story is incredible!

The whole cross-dressing pirate thing, I love you forever for this. *__* This story is just so beautiful and so funny. And when Andrej said he brought Bill the locket -- that was a terrific reveal. I love Andrej’s character here, seeing the whole thing as a lark and being so full of life. It's a nice light touch!

Veeeeery interesting that the naval man is more ruthless that the pirates and actually shoots an unarmed man.
Oh snap! Billamina! What an amazing first meeting (and clever ruse on Bill's part)! *__* Your characterizations of Bill and Tom are simply great!
It was all going according to Bill’s plan, with layers and layers of intrigue. But the scene with the locket was simply gorgeous, so poignant. That entire scene, with Tom snapping the chain, the crew catching Bill, the plank falling away below them, Tom's disappointment and Bill's threat -- gorgeous. Beautifully done!

Poor Tom, having a moment of conscience. I really like how you show he's vulnerable and kind underneath, but then he has to remind himself to be tough and uncaring. It adds a lot to his character.
And for some reason, it cracks me up that Bill is a master organizer and has various plans for the crews to effect. I keep imagining them running drills during long days at sea, and Bill standing there bellowing orders according to his playbook. I can't wait to see what Plan C involves.

This story -- and especially your writing -- is so beautiful. The imagery and descriptions are lovely as you write. I love the way you used the language and the flow of the way they speak. It's perfect for a period piece. The description of Bill and his ship is so striking and clear. (And squee! for merman!Andrej! He and Bill, always looking for the shiny. It seems so in-character.)

Haha I enjoyed angry Bill xD I had a feeling Tom hadn't gotten away with following Andrej, it seemed a bit easy when Andrej and Bill always seem to be one step ahead of the game. I am so excited to read on and so glad I CAN read on! This whole fic seems like it's building up to something bigger and bigger each chapter :D
