Tokio sounds so interesting. You really did imagine their entire planet! You smarty pants, you. :3 I would love a 12 foot holograph of Tom. I think everyone would appreciate that, alien or human.
And I realized something just now... usually in stories with other species and aliens and stuff, the aliens have odd names like Bi'laskh or T'oami*tongue click*. They usually dumb the names down for the human to be able to pronounce. This is the only story I can think of right now in which the aliens have human equivalent names *but I'm sure there are others too). Well, you don't want to make it complicated. Bi'laksh would get annoying to type over and over, and it doesn't offer much to the story anyway... I'm rambling. You just keep on being awesome. *hums Alien*
Author's Response: Thank you again! And you know, I didn't listen to anything in particular while writing, but I was shocked at how perfect the lyrics to "Alien" were for the chapter titles. It's like they wrote the song *just* for this story. :P Wasn't that considerate of them? ~__^ Personally, I would love a huge hologram of Tom or Bill. Or both together. That would work just fine. *nods* I felt like a total cop-out by cheating the names, but I'm glad you think it was OK. Author's Response: Funny you should mention that... this was originally meant to *be* a one-shot, but Bill just kept talking and talking and demanding background. Then Tom jumped in and said if Bill got a backstory, then he should have some more drama too. Next thing I knew, it was 45,000 words of alien crack. *hangs head in shame* I only hope you enjoy it! I agree about the leeches. When I first read "Hitchhiker's" I did a little shiver at the thought of a Babel fish going down my ear into my brain. But it was such a clever concept to explain how you could talk to anyone and understand their language. Douglas Adams is a genius at creating really imaginative fiction.
