Awww. Bill's so sweet! I bet the Bill plushies in the zoo gift shop are top sellers. I hope Bill and Tom talk and bond, and that their male lion instincts don't take over. Such a cute story!
Author's Response: I never thought about lion souvenir plushies, but that would be the most adorable thing ever! The Tom plush would have a bit more stuffing in it so it's filled out a little. But the Bill plushie would definitely be the most beautiful and fabulous, perhaps with some sequins or rhinestones added. >__< Now I can't get rid of that mental image! So cute! I hope you like the upcoming ending, even if it's a bit short on talking and bit heavier on the animal behavior. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Author's Response: Poor Bill. He's been bossed around by women his whole life and now his first crush is kind of being mean to him. It's heartache waiting to happen! But since I like to believe in happy endings, it will all work out eventually for him. ^__^ I feel very old that I didn't remember The Tawny Scrawny Lion! I had a ton of Little Golden Books as a kid, and I remember some of them vividly, particularly the puppies and kitties, but not him. I'll have to get those books from my mom and see if I had that one. *snuggles you back*

Oh Bill. He was really thrown off his game with Tom's arrival. I love how much they sleep; you certainly depict that part accurately! I don't think zoo animals like lions are awake for more than 20 minutes a day.
Author's Response: Poor Bill -- meeting the lion of his dreams when he's supposed to be acting all tough. It's a wonder he could even remember his own name! Thank you so much for noticing the little details. I learned more than I expected about lions, and they typically rest or sleep more than 20 hours a day. What a great life! ^__^ I'm the total opposite of that, unfortunately. And I'm sure that being in captivity would give them even more reason to just sleep since they don't have to hunt or fight for their safety. It's hard not to imagine them as really, really big kitty cats with great big sharp teeth. Sorry for rambling! Thanks again for reading and reviewing!
