Well, I know that this is completely random and maybe a tad odd, but if you need support you can always contact me. I dunno, sometimes a stranger is the best for somethings.

Author's Response: Thanks. I'll be sure to contact you if I need extra support. :)

why would having empty bottles in his room be a bad thing?
also, why would he sneak food if he was anorexic?

great story

Author's Response: Empty bottles are considered a bad thing because Bill would have most likely used them to tank. Tanking means drinking a lot of fluids before you get weighed so that the number is higher and it shows the nurses you've gained weight (even when you haven't). Bill would sneak food for two reasons: 1. To hide it because he has not eaten it, and 2. To save it for later so that he can eat it and purge it. Thanks!

I think this would make a great multiple chapter story.

Author's Response: I'm thinking more along the lines of a series of one-shots set in the same alternate universe. The next one is called Denying the Evidence, and it will be up shortly.

This was sweet :] very truthful. The one thing I do not understand is this: "He ate with his hair tied back" what's all that about?

Other than that, it was very good! great job

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Bill eats with his hair because in some of the more extreme cases in clinics, the anorectic person tries to smear the food in their hair to hide it. They also scrape it under their fingernails or try and squeeze out the "calories" onto their plates.

That was sad and so real. Yet hopeful. You really showed how difficult it is for people with eating disorders to get better. My sister had an EDNOS, and we had much the same struggle with her, except we all had to tread very lightly to avoid damaging her already shredded self-esteem. Eating disorders come with immense stigma and little understanding, so cudos on being brave enough to put this story out there and say that you've suffered with the dissease too. My best wishes for you during your time home with your family.

Author's Response: I'm glad you think so. I'm familiar with EDNOS, which surprisingly not many people are aware of; normally people only know Anorexia and Bulimia to be eating disorders, sometimes possibly binge eating disorder, although there are many more than just those. Hopefully your sister is doing well, and thanks for the review. :)

Anorexia is really encompassing; it doesn't affect just eating and food, but all aspects of life! I didn't realize that before reading this. And treatment has to involve the entire family!

I may not have anorexia, but I understand it a little. I'm dieting to lose weight, and I get obsessive about it. One time I burnt some toast and scraped off the burnt bits. I wondered how many calories I just scraped off, and if I should write it down. I also exercise unreasonably whenever I binge, even if it means going out jogging in the rain at 1 am.

The ending was really positive! Having supportive people around to help you makes it so much more positive and worth it, because you know they care about you.

Author's Response: Yea, it does really affect everything you do, and it really sucks. Some anorexics actually burn their toast on purpose to "burn away the calories" except that is impossible and it still has the same amount (unless you scrape it off, obviously). The late night exercising is another thing; sometimes I'll be studying at 2am and all of the sudden I have to get up and work out for about an hour. Thanks for the review! I'm glad you found the meaning positive. :)

Sweetie, I don't know if I found this sad or hopeful. Anorexia and bulimia are both scary things to suffer through and it was painful reading about Bill. You write so eloquently about this problem and I'm so sorry that you suffer from it yourself. Please don't let things at home make you sick. Take care of yourself and if you need help please ask for it. I don't want to see anything bad happen to you. :)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm thankful for your concern and for your compliments on my writing style. And I'm glad that you find Bill's eating disorder painful. :)
