I like it! Tom still has a way to go; his insensitivity towards transgender people is pretty blatant in how he texts his friends, but I feel like he's possibly putting up a front to maintain friendships, seeing as he was attracted to Bill.

In this story, Bill isn't actually transgendered, but the term is used popularly to describe anyone whose looks veer towards the opposite sex. It's not accurate, and a lot of people are offended by it, but people don't know any better. /shrugs

Love it. I love Bill's character so far; he puts on a cold front, but he seems almost eager to find some companionship. It takes true talent, though, to welcome someone into your home while still managing to come off as aloof. He seems very pushy, perhaps because he's afraid of being pushed himself; he can't even invite Tom to come live with him. He commands Tom to live with him. It seems like a way for Bill to not admit that he's interested in befriending Tom, if he can act like he is the one initiating contact. He sounds like a proper control-freak.
Or I could be way off base and my psychology class is just getting to me.
