wow, this is a very good fic so far! While I do not have the same issues (that we know of this far)I do have my own medical issue and know exactly where Bill is coming from in regrards to his Mom and his not suicidal but depressed thoughts. I have thought many of the things you mentioned myself. So good job on the realism so far!
When I was reading the first couple paragraphs, before it cut to One Year Previous, based on them and the summary I was kind of expecting them to have met online and Bill not mentioned the fact that he was in a chair and that was their first meeting or something...But know I am really curious as to what is going on.
Please keep up the wonderful work! I am looking forward to following this story!
Author's Response: I'm very glad you find it realistic and not overly dramatic or something, that was my biggest concern about the story. I know most people have had issues with themselves and their self-esteem at least once in their lives, but Bill's case is a bit more sensitive and I was afraid it might come off much more "heavy" than I intended. I'm really glad you're enjoying it and I hope you like the next part :))

Bill knew his mother did the best she could to help him take his mind off itas much as possible, to provide as much imagination he could’ve lost because of it, and Bill found himself apologizing on a regular basis, opening his heart and confessing to her. He often felt guilty for making her stay by his side almost all the time, changing her life completely, and practically forcing her to take care of him even if he was nineteen already. Simone would scold him, would always tell him to stop talking and thinking like that. She always said she'd do anything for him.
I do the same thing. Sometimes I think that I am a burden to my mom.
oh yeah, im also in a wheelchair. I have spina bifida.
Author's Response: I'm sorry you have to go through that. I sincerely hope I am not doing a very horrible job at describing the situation. I can in no way know what it's like and I tried not to make Bill come off as miserable or overly emotional because of his disability, but rather a realist who understands how things are and doesn't expect more than what he can get. I really really hope it won't come off as completely unrealistic and I'm sorry in advance if something written in the rest of the story is absurd. Thank you for your review :))

I think this is off to a really interesing start.. They both seem to have their issues, though. I hope they'll find a way to help each other out.. I feel so bad for them both!

It is only my opinion, but I really think you are doing a fair job here. I like the way you try and get into Bill's head in order to project his feelings. It's insightful and well done.

I love putting Bill in wheelchairs, or mking him blind, or deaf. What does that say about me that I like to hurt him so? Hmm...
Anywho, this seems like it'll be good. You're entering into it slowly, and not focusing eveything on Bill's disability right away. It was a realistic touch, how you made Bill reluctant to chase his career dream because he felt "fame" and "wheelchair" don't mix. Good job!
