This most definitely seems very dark, and you did a great job of setting the whole mood. I especially love how you opened and closed this chapter, and how expressive and ominous that one sentence is. I'm so very excited to read more of this!

Oh I'm so very interested! The summary itself had me feeling all giddy to read the chapter! I love this kind of stories with innocent, trusting Bill and manipulative, mean Tom! *cackles* I love the way you started the chapter. The first paragraph was wonderful! What a way to start! I always have trouble writing the beginnings of stories, and you've done such a wonderful job here!
And this: Bill did everything he could to avoid coming home for just a little longer. He’d walk the long way home. He’d walk around shops, looking at clothes he couldn’t afford. is wonderful! :'( And so is this: One person surprised him though. Bill later found out that this person’s name was Tom. Ah, I love that line. Suspense, anticipation for things to come! The last line was haunting! I really love this introduction to the story you've given! Can't wait to read the next chapter! <3
