I read the first part of the first chapter.
The writing is good, but it's way too over the top. Remember, there has to be some reason Emma wanted to be with him in the first place.
As much as he is a monster, he needs some okay qualities or he wouldn't have been able to get together with her in the first place.

What's going on? Emma is married to Jake? :-/ and Tom has Mandy hmm is Mandy really prego. I know she just got almost beat by Jake but Tom is an involved man, it's kinda wrong to intrude while Mandy is gone.
