It pains me that Tom has to hide his true feelings while his brother seems to be totally oblivious. Pretty sad actually. I wonder if it ever comes to that point and Tom is going to ask Bill why he indeed chose to leave Tom for Joop and stayed away for such a long time, not being bothered (as Tom sees it) by it. That could be such a fantastic conversation between the two of them.

so so sweet...that thing about the end of the notebook being like them...i can imagine it being like that in RL. so so cute, but also a bit sad.
btw, my German teacher is a 27 yr old german woman, and she mentioned to me, upon realizing my interest in the group, how it seemed so strange that bill supposedly had a relationship with a much older man, and to that i said, "what? i haven't seen such a thing online" and she said she would look into it and get back to me...today she remembered that it was Wolfgang Joop, and to that I said...i doubt it, lol, and she just said that her mother had mentioned it to her, that it seemed strange and that i guess one said something about the importance of the other...she's gonna look around and send me the link. lol. but still, i think it's blowing a friendship out of proportion. but she assured me that Joop, while having grandkids, is gay, so maybe he is bi? or maybe she is just assuming it...just thought you might find that interesting xP

Joop was/is married and does have kids and grandkids but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. The way he talks and gestures just screams 'gay', so... I don't know. He could also be gay without openly admitting it. Which seems silly. Oh well. XD But Durch die Nacht definitely did have several moments that were very slashy and made it so easy to imagine that the two of them were interested in each other XD Especially Joop in Bill. But anyway - so cool that you can talk about things like that to your German teacher! XD

Okay, so I've been bad and haven't reviewed until now. I love this. It's realistic, that's why. There's so many unrealistic plots out there, but this kind of thing is refreshing. I suspect Tom probably hasn't ever had to contest with anyone else for Bill's affections before, seeing as Bill has always been into the 'true love' thing. Bill has had to share Tom with groupies for a long time. So naturally, as you write so wonderfully, Tom wouldn't really be able to deal with Bill finally being with someone else. You've done it so well. Love the whole Gustav punching Tom thing too :)

I love how you write Tom in this fic, he is so vibrant, so full of emotions and life. His characterization is very strong and powerful.
As for Bill, I just hope he would make some serious soul searching and wake up from his libido- and ego-induced bimbo limbo. If Joop ever comes back he shouldn't need Tom to deal with it for him; wake up Bill, use your brain capacity sweetheart, it's allowed:-)

Whooo, go Tom! Joop really should've known better. You don't mess with someone's twin; it just isn't done! I'm so glad that Bill finally went home, though. Him with Joop was cute, but it's time for him and Tom to repair their relationship.
For Tom, Bill comes before anyone. For Bill, Tom comes before anyone; that's the biggest clue that Bill could've gotten that Joop wasn't the man for him; anyone that comes between the twins is bad news.
