Beautiful story! The ending was so sad, I know it was right thing to do from Bill's side, any other decision would make him appear as an egoistic creature, but I can't help feeling very sorry for him. Tom sailed away to a place where he could have a future while for Bill there was nothing left to live for.
You're an excellent writer and, as I said, this story was very beautiful, but I almost wish I didn't read it. (Even though it's going to be one of my favourite ones.)
Author's Response: I can understand your feelings that you wish you hadn't read it, I get that sometimes, with sad endings. Glad you liked it so much though. You obviously saw things just the way I hoped. Bill got the tragic ending, but it was out of love that he let Tom go. Thanks!

Well, most Greek love stories end in tragedy, and this actually had me tear up.
Author's Response: Fist pump for your tears! Haha no, but seriously, it's nice to know it really evoked emotion. I have a hard time getting truely sad unless it's an exceptional fic I'm reading, so your tears are really the best compliment.

So sad, tragic, beautiful, and romantic!! I loved it, but hated that Tom had to leave Bill. I think there should be a sequel where Bill has Tom's child due to the sex. After sailing so long, community pronounces him dead and watches after Bill and his child. Also, find a way for Bill and the kid to go with Tom back to a new land like convince the Gods in some way!

Aww, that was sad. I read a lot of happy ending stories, but the occasional sad ending is ok too. It was realistic too, that Tom would tire of the island.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you think so! This story was loosely based off a book I read in middle school, which had a similarly tragic ending.

I'd like to think after Tom goes back to the real world-he realizes he can't be without Bill and they dicover a way to be together. I know there's not a happy ending all the time-that's not real life-but I can imagine with this story!

PS: You know what else? The ending bit, with Bill running up the cliffs so he could still see him, reminded me of the end of Pocahontas - except sadder, more emotionally powerful XD

Author's Response: Thank you! I knew from the beginning it was going to be a sad ending. The challenge was just to figure out how to properly convey what I was picturing. And yes, after a few days, I'd be ready to shoot myself from all the nasty fish!

Finally!! The breakthrough - meaning the sex hahahaha.. Took them long enough to finally take their relationship to the next level:) A year's a long wait given their situation looooool..
