I'm absolutely swept away with this. The universe you've created, the details and the descriptions that make me feel like I'm right there - and most of all, of course, the careful small growing sweet emotions with the boys. Lovely work!
Author's Response: Ohh, thank you so much!

Oh wow, I wasn't expecting that a kiss was such a big deal in their community. Not that I know much of the Amish, but it makes sense. Loving this, honey! You're doing a wonderful job bringing this story to life. :D
Author's Response: In some places, between some people, sometimes, they are a big deal. 'Course there are always exceptions, but that's beside the point of the story here. Ohh, thank you, thank you! :D And I'm so happy you're loving it.

i love stories that deal with moral stuff, it's pretty interesting.

Author's Response: ^__^ I'm glad you do. Thanks for reading and leaving a review.

Phew, I actually thought it would be way worse when he came back. At least he's talking and not hating Bill.
Heh, I've always wondered about how fair rumspringa is. Since the kids already have a set of morals ingrained in them, it wouldn't be likely that they would switch over. It's close to moot, in my opinion... Although I suppose that's good news to the family. At the same time, I think it's a pity to basically lose the esteem of one's family just because one chooses to leave.
Author's Response: Yeah, I get what you mean. It doesn't seem all that fair, since it's the only life the kids have known. And the outside world, depending on where you go, it's not always going to be all that appealing, and I'm sure it's probably turned quite a few baaack to their normal lives rather than encouraging them to venture out into the dark outside world. Anyways. I'm rambling. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

Oh, poor kid. Such heartache. Tom wants to do well. Be the correct son in this complex yet simple society. It's terrible there is no space for his kind and Bill arriving is ripping up in his peaceful existence and where he is heading. Obviously, marriage would just be the way things are and Tom would lead on his life eventlessly and please those around him and probably making himself happy to some extent. But now... it's not that simple anymore and Tom is slipping his inner feelings loose inch by inch. The kiss is the first sign and more will come, because it will be impossible to keep it in. Just too bad he's so shocked about it when 'what was out there had no appeal', Tom said. Obviously it had, but he forbid himself to touch it because he couldn't cope with the reality of himself being gay. I'm sure he returned home to try and patch up the damage.
Looking forward to what happens next :) *Maria
Author's Response: Maria, I love reading your reviews. :) You just sum up all of your thoughts and connections and even little analyses (oh god, the thought of analyzing my own stories - awful) and... I don't know, it's just pleasant to read how your mind works with all of the events taking place in the story, if that makes sense. :') Even if it doesn't, thank you very, very much for reading and leaving a review again. :)

cant wait for more
what do the Amish do for fun except reading and talking?
Author's Response: More is heeeere ;) Hahaa, I know, that's like all I've had them do so far besides eating, sleeping and working in the barn/fields! My bad. But they do play some sports, apparently they're big on some board games and card games, too? I don't know everything, and of course what they do for entertainment varies between the different Amish communities. I believe I've also read they hunt, fish, camp, and, apparently, hold auctions from time to time. 'Course, all of that is VERY general, so don't assume it all true. But... yeah, thanks for continuing to read! :'))

Poor Tom. That would be such an awful position to be in. You would be forced to make such difficult choices. great chapter, thanks so much!!
Author's Response: Difficult position indeed. :( Sigh... poor Tom. Awe, thank YOU for reading. :')

Oh, Tom ;_; Such a shitty decision to have to make. He can't be truly happy because that'll mean leaving his family behind. But it's eating him up inside =/ Gaahh, I'm loving this.
Author's Response: I knowww, such a sticky situation to be in :( Poor guy. But thank you - so happy you're loving it! :))

In case you were wondering from my last review, I LOVE this story! ;)
And ooooooo a KISS! I wasn't expecting that! Sure, I hoped for wild-sex-in-the-barn/cornfield, but I knew THAT wasn't gonna happen.
But that kiss was stunning - all that delicious eye contact and how the rest of the world just fell away...oh that gives me tingles.
LOVE this story! xoxoxo
Author's Response: "I hoped for wild-sex-in-the-barn/cornfield" -- oh lorrrd, I wish Amish!Tom would cooperate with that, but he won't :( Boo, Tom, boooo LOL. Um. Anyways. Thank you! I'm so, so happy you LOVE this story. :'D

You are indeed evil!!! Well not really ^^ I'm just saying that because you left me hanging!! I gots to know what is gonna happen next! I find this fic really peaceful. My mother likes to read these amish(sp?) books and I've ever only read the back of the books or at least a page or tow. I find them rather... not really old fashion, but... simple I guess you could say. I dunno, but I do like it. This story I've seen for awhile and now I've finally read cuz you have more chapters up! I'm the kind of person who can't wait!!! But now I MUST wait... *pouts* Hopes you update soon!!!
Author's Response: Ahh, well, I'm glad you finally picked up and chose to read this little story :') Makes me smile that you did. But have no fear, waits should not be too long. Even with finals coming up, the next few chapters are already written and waiting to be posted :)) Thank you for reading and leaving a review!!

Oh, what was that?
I didn't expect Tom to kiss Bill so soon^^
But in that moment it was fitting, with all the previous tension between them.
Actually I'm really happy that it happened =)
But I'm afraid Tom will try to stay out of Bill's way now. He shouldn't! I understand his "problem", but I just hope he won't hurt himself and Bill too much...
I noticed something that I really like about your writing style: the way you let the characters observe the others (especially Bill) and at the same time they don't see everything (which would be very unrealistic if they did), but in the same time you tell the reader little things that Bill or Tom don't see.
So you're not giving everything away, yet still I don't feel completely lost.
That's great! :)
And about my last review: Being curious is usually good^^ Maybe I was just being too concerned or whatever^^
Now I hope to read another chapter next week :)
Author's Response: After I wrote this chapter, I started second guessing myself and freaking out that the kiss was too early, but you know... there really wasn't much that could happen before it! Just more tension, I guess, but that'd probably bore all of you, including me. ^_^ So the kiss had to happen sooner rather than later. Glad you found it fitting, though. And awww, thank you, love :')

Gosh I really am enjoying the development of this story. Not too fast, and not too slow either. Poor old Tom, he'll come around ;)
Author's Response: Hah, we can always hope he will ;) Thank youuu - so glad you're enjoying it!

Awwww, poor Tom, this must be so hard for him. I imagine he's never given in to any of the urges he's felt before, so this won't be easy to digest. I just love the detail you're putting in this story. It's so wonderfully told. I'll be looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Awe, thank you, thank you. :')

I knew it!!!
Author's Response: :O you knew they were gonna kiss?! or that tom would end up gay? see, that's the one bad thing about having to list genre, categories and pairings... never a chance for surprise :( but YAY FOR YOU FOR KNOWING xD Thanks for reading and leaving a review. :D

Poor Tom!
Author's Response: ;__; I know, right? Thanks for reading!
