Incredibly nice job on this first chapter. It's so loaded with imaginary details and fantastic descriptions. You're a goo story teller and I cant wait to learn more about this intriguing plot of yours.
:-}
Maria
Author's Response: Ohh, thank you, thank you, Maria. I'm so pleased you like it! :D

This is such a fascinating start! I can't wait to read how it will play out. Loving Bill and Daniel so far. :D
Author's Response: Awe, thank you! I'm so happy you're liking it so far. Hope the rest doesn't disappoint! :))

this seems good
one thing though
Amish dont have straw hats, not that i know of anyway
Author's Response: Ah, thank you! Mm, they don't have straw hats year-round, but some communities, at least, are allowed to wear them in the summer months. Autumn, too, apparently, since I saw a video of some Amish in Lancaster during the harvest wearing straw hats... anyways, thank you for reading! I hope you like the rest of it :)

so i read the first line of the summary and i was like "i must read this" after laughing for a second. I'm currently at college in Lancaster County, so the idea of Bill being in Lancaster is really funny. I can't wait to read more of this story it seems like its going to be really good, and if you need an help with facts or things about Lancaster don't be afraid to ask :)
Author's Response: Ohhhh noes, someone in Lancaster! *hides* Lol, I've never even been to Lancaster, at least not for any great length of time (we might've driven few a couple times, but I thing we usually drive more north when we cross the state (I'm from western pa but in school in nj right now)), soooo anything I write about the actual town/county/whatnot is, um, fictional aside from basics I can find via google. But, really, the story's going to remain within the fictional setting of the Lapp's residence, so hopefully you won't be jumping on my back for misconceptions! But if I have any questions, I WILL, indeed, come to you first! Thanks for the offer. And for reading! :D

Hey!
This sounds like a great idea :)
I don't think I've ever read a fanfiction containing Amish people and their lifestyle, I'm excited to see what you're gonna make of it!
The first chapter was already very nice, I like that it's so descriptive.
It makes it easier to imagine things and it gives the whole story a certain "aura". Don't know how to describe it, it just makes the difference between reading a text and reading a story, you know?
Not all fanfictions have that.
Though there are two times in this chapter where it is a little too much, but only a little^^
I wonder why Bill left his hometown. Is it really just because he was seeking an adventure or wishing to explore the east coast? Or maybe I'm just over-interpreting things xD
I look forward to reading more of this :)
Author's Response: Hi there! Thank you. I believe there's at least one other on this site (appeared when I looked for "amish" in the summary, anyway), but it hasn't been updated in over a year... so. Yes. This is probably one of few Amish-related fanfics, at least around here. Ah, well, I'm glad you've enjoyed the descriptiveness overall, at least! I was afraid it would turn quite a few readers away. Eh, more will be revealed about Bill in later chapters. Thanks for reading!! :D

Beautiful writing so far.
You ended just when I wanted to meet Tom!
I thought Daniel was Tom at first, ended up his father. The story seems very sweet. :)
Bill from California.
I'm from Cali too < 3
Love to read on, cannot wait for future chapters. :D
And see what will make out of Tom's future marriage and Bill. :)
Author's Response: Aw, thank you! Ahaa, well, you weren't going to meet Tom right then even if I had continued writing a little bit farther, so no major loss in ending where I did. ;) I'm so happy you're liking it so far!!
