Well, that was unexpected! I was thinking they'd snipe at each other forever, but now their fates are kind of...bound up together. :3 I bet the hostilities won't cease any time soon, alas.
SO like Gustav to be so bound up in his samples that he didn't even realize what happened, or how much time had passed.
Author's Response: I had to do something to move the show along. I figured having Bill greviously injure Tom was sufficient.
I hope it doesn't seem like Gustav didn't know that they'd been seperated. He did, he just got... distracted, and wasn't estimating the danger acurately.

I'm beginning to think that the relationship between Bill and this Soren might have been personal.
It's interesting to see Tom attempting to get along in this world. He's so awkward, haha, but I can't blame him.

Tom isn't very adept at survival skills, especially in this alien world. But he's more likely to be scornful and blame the stupidness of Esid than feel any incompetance.

something tells me the ship shouldn't have left w/o Gusti, I'm thinking some sort of hostile take over of sorts with disgruntled crew scared because of the sickness spreading. Still good so far. I can't wait to see how this turns from I hate you we should just kill you and be done with it to a romance...its gonna be interesting.
Author's Response: You're not entirely off the mark with the reason for the ship's departure. Glad you're interested in future happenings. I do not have this fic planned out, so we'll see what happens. I'm really hoping to finish it in no more than 10-15 chapters though.

Seeing an update from this story made me smile. Of course, I've got more questions than this story is providing answers at this point, but that's a good thing, right? Bill is an intriguing character - makes me wonder what happened to him in the past that makes him so violently opposed to Tom. The details of your world and the alien culture are really well developed. I'm looking forward to seeing where your story goes from here!
Author's Response: It makes me smile that it makes you smile. Yes, unanswered questions are usually good, especially at this point in the story. I've had the whole detailed Plan'ik culture stuck in my head for awhile now. It's more the plot of the story that I haven't planned. Part of the reason for Bill's dislike is his past, and part of it is his personality--he's one of those people that doesn't take well to big changes, and aliens showing up on your planet is certainly a BIG change. Thanks for the nice review.

I didn't expect the ship to leave, but I'm not surprised now that I've thought about it. They were considering it, after all. I am rather surprised that they left without Tom and Gustav when they knew they were out there - unless of course Gustav went back when he didn't find Tom again and they assumed Tom was dead...
I'm glad you're not translating the Plan'ik. You're right - it's more authentic. I'd rather have the experience that the characters are having.
Tom's in quite the mess now, isn't he? I'm very curious to see how this turns out.
Author's Response: Well you don't know if Gustav went back or not. If he did, the people in charge might have been like, "We don't care about your friend, he's only one person and we have to get out of dodge." If Gustav didn't go back, they might not have noted his absence before take-off, or they could have written him off for dead too.
Yeah, that's essentially why I'm not translating it.
I don't think Tom's life is so bad right now, but he sure does! He is NOT happy about the situation. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Mm, still loving this. I like that Bill isn't automatically falling for Tom like he seems to do in a lot of fics. That he hates him and with reason, because you would not believe how many fics on Mibba are about "I'm engaged to this vampire prince oh and by the way we hate each other". That is seriously the title of some of them. ._. But yeah, this is going great. Love it. Hopefully Bill will heal Tom; after all, he's just been stranded on his planet and it's not like he's done anything to try and hurt the Plan'ik. He was an emergency patient, so he doesn't have anything to do with invading their space. :/
Author's Response: Well I strive not to make my characters act unrealistically, that's just stupid and poor writing. Bill has reasons for why he's prejudiced against humans. He sees them as stupid and selfish. You'll find out why later. And trust me, he's not the only one who holds a bit of dislike for Tom's species.
