I have been enjoying this story very much and was thrilled to see it being updated. It was interesting, fresh, reflexive of true teenage spirit of the characters depicted in it. The plot itself intrigued me, there has been a lot of potential to develop it further. Your writing was good.
I have to say though that I feel like I "lost" Tom alltogether now. I can't just wrap my head around his actions in this installment. At all. Both guys are complicated characters, I got that, and they have very twisted, complicated relationship, I got that too. You managed to portray them really, really well. The plot made a lot of sense, was smooth, linear, logical, there were no abrupt, sudden changes, just clear definition of what has been going on between the two of them.
In this chapter though, idk, I feel like Tom has got multiple personality disorder or something. I hope you don't take my "criticism" too bad, I just liked this fic a lot and now you lost me. I feel for Bill, he is still very much in character. Tom puzzles me though. Maybe you tried to capture too big chunk of his emotional inner world reflecting in his actions towards Bill in too short span of time, too little text, idk. I just couldn't relate and understand him at all. On top of that, a rape is a tough one to write. I feel like you could slip easier into head of Bill than Tom's. What I mean is that Tom's character contradicted himself throughout this chapter a lot. You started with Tom being sweet to Bill as perceived by Bill himself, then you made Tom to break his promise and bring some girl back to the house; he was drunk, that can be an excuse but his actions following still made no sense to me.....he advances on Bill, being horny and all, wants to make it good for Bill but still goes ahead and rapes him, then he apologizes but runs away from him, starts to feel remorse and even cries with regret but leaves Bill anyhow to deal with trauma he caused him on his own..????? Then he promises to himself never hurting Bill ever again. It is just too incoherent, imho. Too big sways in his emotional body. Maybe I would have understood better if his actions were explained somehow but as for now I feel like I witnessed something disturbing I have no comprehension of.
I strongly feel that this fic still has a lot of potential. I didn't mean to be negative or overly critical, and if I was I am sorry. I just really, really loved your work and I wouldn't bother to write all of this if I didn't care for the fic, for the characters.
I am looking forward to see what is coming next, how you proceed further, how you are gonna wrap it all up. I also believe that a intricate plot like this would need probably more than just one more chapter to finalize it all.

Author's Response: Woah, a really long review – firstly, thank you for that. Secondly, you don’t need to apologise for your ‘criticism’, although I wouldn’t call it that. I really appreciate the fact that your explained why you felt you lost Tom, rather than just saying it. I’m going to be honest; I did rush the end of this chapter slightly. I was determined to get it posted before I went on my trip, because I knew that it had been a while since I’d updated and I didn’t want to drag it out any longer. That is likely to be part the reason as to why you felt his actions were incomprehensible. Another thing is that when I wrote this, I didn’t actually view it as rape. :L I only realised that it could be seen that way when someone left a review pointing out that it was clear in their mind that it was rape. So I don’t know, maybe that’s part the reason why Tom seemed so odd? Also, a key thing that I was trying to get across in this is that he does in fact care for Bill, but the alcohol got in the way of that and mucked it all up, except Tom doesn’t see it that way; he believes that HE mucked it all up. Oh, I don’t know. I’m sorry if you feel I let the story down or anything.rnrnThe other thing is I really don’t know where to go in the next chapter. I’m trying to choose between doing an in depth look at what’s going on in Tom’s head, or Bill’s, or both? Or something completely different? Poor poor Bill! It almost made me cry to read how Tom used yet again it was very hot to read. I honestly hadn't expected this to take a direction like this ;____;

Woah, I take that as such a compliment. :) I know, Tom's just so horrible to Bill over and over again, but I think he may have finally realised it this time. >_< Half way through the chapter I was kind of thinking "oh, are they gunna?" but then Tom went ahead and did it anyway. ^.^ I'm sure that Bill will trust Tom again soon, after all, he really does love him. xD Thank you so much for your review and I will do my best to update soon. :]]
