Aww, well that was a little heartbreaking for a birthday fic. The whole piece was rather grey and miserable, but in the good sense, in that it's supposed to be that way and maintains consistency. My heart would crumble if I ever found that Gustav was struggling with depression. I've been there myself, actually, for four years of my life, and I can really relate to how impossibly suffocating it is, even when there are days that couldn't get any better from an outsider's point of view. Good friends can't be replaced in these situations. This was well done, and just a little too sad. D: Feel better, Gusti. ):

I like the responsible, realistic way Gustav's depression was handled. You didn't make anyone incriminate him, or make him feel worse about it. I really like the understated support you had Georg give. I wish more people understood depression like you obviously seem to. Thank you for such a wonderful story.
