I came across this story in someone else's favourites. And I can see why it's there!
This was so painfully sad, but beatiful at the same time. Most fics are just that - fiction. But sometimes you come across one that's so well written you can almost believe it. This is one of them.

Really really nice. I had a pair of twins in my class that used to do something similar.
Whenever they had a problem they would have this indescribable thing they would do together, that you wouldn't notice if you weren't really paying attention. And then, after tehy did that, they were ready for another go at the world.

it's short, but it packs in the same emotion as a 30 chapter long fic.
the last scene, where tom and bill and just holding each other...gosh it almost made me want to sniffle myself :(

I just reread this piece and I appreciated it even more.
It's so intense, as if Gustav's eyes were a stranger's and a mother's ones strongly tied togheter. The pivot-scene is so potent, and somehow muted at the very same time. I held my hands together,as if in fear of breaking something just by moving slightly , as if in fear of being caught stealing a piece of such oppressive, beautiful intimacy
