I know how hard it is to get dogs and cats to go together. My boyfriend and I moved in together a year ago. He had a cat and I a dog. It has taken them this long just to find some happy common ground. They get along very well now. Still it was tough.
This was a very good story and I liked it alot. Thank you very much.

Awwwww there is so much cute. I have two cats and one is cuddlier than the other and likes to cuddle with me all the time while the other one will pick and choose when she wants your attention. And I'm just imagining little kitties and there is so much I like about Tom's reactions to Mieke. And how perfect Mieke is because the whole time I'm just like, "That's exactly how it would be, aw." Me gusta this story.

I giggled so hard I gave myself a coughing fit and OH came in to check on me and offer me a drink lol. You had me at "Both cat and twin were giving Tom wide, woeful eyes."
And this mental picture below just killed me in a very very very good fluffy way. A grey fluffy way ;-)
He looked down at the kitten. Mieke cracked one eye at him and curled up even tighter, as though to say, we're not moving any time soon.
"Suits me," Tom muttered, and tucked a careful hand over the kitten, cupping her against his belly.

Oh my god, this is the cutest thing ever! The very idea of Tom cuddled up in bed with a kitten has me melting into a big puddle of awwwww.
And I always thought that Bill would be more of a cat person. Less drool to worry about, more of an attitude he can relate to.

This is cute! I love how Bill takes the kitten's side and Tom succumbs. I enjoy stories where Bill has got Tom wrapped around his little finger. :) The kitten descriptions are so sweet -- the big eyes! The mewing! And this: "He held up the kitten in one hand, turning his head and brushing his mouth over one furry little ear." Bill's mouth + a furry little ear = Tom never had a chance. Not a chance.
Author's Response: Bill is taking the kitten's side for Tom's own good! ;) And yes, Bill definitely has Tom wrapped around his finger but the kitten doesn't hurt. :D You are entirely right, Tom never had a chance and should have given up at once, but he is Very Stubborn.
