Back to your story: I think the sentence "I feel beautiful" is really powerful, so great choice there. And then the emotion and images were vivid. Very nice work.
I'd critique the fact that I find it unbelievable for a parent to say something like "oh Bill, he's only second best" so openly, but I understand that it was a plot device.
Ok, ok, before I go, I HAVE TO ASK: Bill carved the word "TOM" into his chest, didn't he?! That's why he finally feels beautiful?? I think that fits, and it would be genius of u.

Holy shit.. that was gorgeous. ;) Really...
very pretty.. and devastating, but nevertheless, I highly enjoyed it! The warnings + the "general" didn't make sense... though.
But I clicked it anyhow, it was intriguing. :P
The way the doctor announces Bill's death was like O_O dude... you just.. dun' do that! D:

Author's Response: I'm exactly that chick who strive for #1 for my parents. I got tired of it and tried to stop. Which wasn't very effective because it's engraved in my bones. I eventually start to force myself resulting in feeling like complete shit, for lack of better words. rnrnLoL. I don't watch dramas and I haven't been told "dude, he just died" or something so I really don't know how to put it XDD Excuse that, please. And well, I really couldn't say it's Slash or Het either. That was... so powerful. I nearly cried at the end. It was that last part that got me- the lyrics for On The Edge, twisted like that. And then the last line... absolutely gorgeous. Maybe I'm just morbid. But I absolutely adored this.
