i love this world. such a cute story, and Tom is such a good daddy. everytime i read Janni i think of my daddy, and it makes me sad because i just had to say goodbye, and i miss him already. but, it makes me happy too, because reading these stories always makes me remember the times i spent with him. When i was little, and they were on the hunt for osama bin laden, it was all over the news, and even kids in school would talk about it. i remember my sister and i didnt understand what terrorists were and we were kinda scared that he might come after us. one night, he was tucking us into bed and we didnt want him to go because we were scared, but he said there was nothing to worry about. he took one of my sister's blankies and wrapped it around his head. he said he was osama bin looden, and made funny faces, and talked in a funny voice. we werent scared after that.
every night he would tuck us in and read us stories, play with the good hand man and the eveil handman, he'd have mistery scardy walk up and down our legs, and if we laughed he's get scared and fall off...so we couldn't laugh even though it tickled...but we alwasy would, and my mom would get mad because he was "hyping us up", lol.
your tom reminds me so much of him. he was the best dad in the world.
i know this is more of me telling my own story than it is a review, but i just wanted to let you know how much these little stories touch me. i really can't thank you enough for bringing me a smile, and a happy tear when i've been so sad lately.

by the way, just out of curiosity, why is vanilla scent so often mentioned in this community? Usually when it deals with Bill's perfumery too.

I believe that Bill did, at one time, say that he liked the smell of vanilla, but wow, it was a long time ago. I always find it interesting what different smells the writers assign to the guys, and whenever anyone I know gets to meet them at meet and greets, I always ask how they smell. Most people are too flustered from seeing them to remember, but someone said Bill smelled like leather and a light men's cologne. ;p

This is exactly the kind of adorable I needed before bed. Hee, I love how neatly Tom introduces his ghost solution, and the way Bill is rather puzzled at the end. So cute, and seeing a ficlet set in the Janni universe makes me bouncy! ♥

I used to know a family that did something similar for their son to keep the monsters away at night. Their method involved an old fancy looking aftershave bottle filled with water. They'd fill up the cap with the water and sprinkle it around his bed to keep the monsters away. Worked pretty good too! :D

Now that's a wonderful idea, too! I actually got the idea from a family forum when my son insisted at age three that there were ghosts in his room. The spray didn't work with him, though, because that house really was haunted. :/

Sooo cute, and Tom is the best dad! Very inventive, coming up with a ghost repellent for his girl. ♥ I almost thought he'd have to take her in to sleep with him and Bill!

Ohhh, this was adorable!!! I loved to see a glimpse of their domesticity post-Janni. I hope we get more little one-shots like this because I've fallen in love with their little family!
