I really enjoyed this story! It was different and that's what makes it so interesting!
Even if I don't usually like open endings, I think it worked perfectly this time and it fits the story!

Whoa and here thought there was gonig to be something Bad happening. Like Corporate taking the lives of the slipes and destroying the government. I hate you LOL. Yes this was really abrupt, but i like it. I hope you make a sequel ( kind of like what i had in mind). but thats just me throwing a tantrum over the ending.
Author's Response: Well, I certainly left it open enough for a sequel...There is definitely still the possibility of Bad Things happening in the future for all the characters. I wouldn't trust corporate, after all. Unfortunately, I'm just not sure how much writing I'm going to be doing in the next couple of months. We'll see what happens. Author's Response: A sequel might be a possibility. I don't want to promise anything, though. It might be quite awhile before I pick up steam with writing again, and perhaps then I'll have moved on to something else. But I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

Oh man...I'm just sitting here kind of blinking. What a marvelously ominous but weirdly hopeful image on which to leave off. That was so eerie and powerful.

I have absolutely loved this story, and am sad to see it end. I understand you're going to be busy with your new baby (congratulations, by the way), but I'm confident that someone with your writing talents will not be able to stay away forever. So - any chance of a sequel some day? That would be beyond awesome!!!
Author's Response: There's certainly room for a sequel, considering how open-ended I tried to leave things. But I don't want to make any promises. I'm not sure when I'll get back into regular writing, and there's the risk that another plot bunny will have caught me by that point! I think this was great! it is an ambiguous ending but its happy and hopeful enough for me to be happy. I love Bill's line "Our children". Too cute! Any thoughts of a sequel? Though it works very well just as it is. Enjoy your baby, thanks so much for this wonderful piece!!

Loved the ending! This whole story was based on a morally ambiguous theme, so this ending was perfect. It's not neat and clean and happily-ever-after (at least not in the conventional way), it's real and very much in keeping with the whole story. And Bill's line "our children"...just loaded with meaning and an odd sense of sweetness!
Anywho, I wish you luck with your baby and everything to come!
Author's Response: Thank you, I'm glad you feel the ending suits the tone of the story! I definitely couldn't have given this story a fairytale ending the way I did with Beast, for instance. I didn't expect that end at all. It was so sudden. But for Bill to think of them as their children is cute. I'm happy he progressed as much as he did :D

I think that it's really IC for Tom to not be concerned with what happens after the babies are born. I am glad that he and Bill have a way to be together, though. It was so heartbreaking to think they wouldn't be. Thank you for sharing this wonderful, provocative story with us.

I was certainly trying to portray Tom as a morally ambiguous character the whole way through...not a BAD guy, of course, but not as tied to concepts of right and wrong as other people. This is going to have a hapopy end, right? Because in all honesty, this has been quite heartbreaking for the last few chapters :D.
Bill's reaction, his POV to more people like him, was interesting and understandable. Somehow touching. These are not easy questions. I hope they'll make the right decision.
