This is going to make me cry in the end of it all. I can't see Bill getting out of any of it alive. Now what are they going to do. Bill killed David. Georg can't be trusted anymore and Bill's time is ticking by quicker then a hamsters life. I don't want to watch him grow old and die. I doubt that Tom can get back into the lab to curate a decelerators for Bill. . . . ~Laughs~ a decelerator of aging that would make a killing. "Live 50 times longer with a simple vaccine." Maybe he could curate an proposal or agreement of some kind? Bill is his by blood right. Maybe there is a law loophole he can use. Also human splicing is legal in the UK. Poor Jost, so frequently the bad guy, and now getting killed for it. In this instance, though, it's on the order of just desserts for seeing something "so complex," as he put it, and expecting to treat it as a simpler organism without intelligence or defense mechanisms.
Bill is intelligent, but also very instinctual. Moreover, he hasn't been socialized, he has no inhibition against reacting the way he wants to. That comes through so very strongly here.
It's all going to go straight to hell from here, isn't it? I'm so sad over the life cycle details, I'm hoping that of anything he may have overheard, Bill didn't understand that.
What a gorgeous piece of fanart to accompany the story. The teddy is definitely a sweet detail.

So I officially hate Georg now, and I'm not at all sad that David met his end. I suppose I sort of knew this was coming, but it's still frustrating and worrying to know that Tom's secret is out...God this cliffie is going to kill me!
