oh, that went more smoothly than the original. i'll admit, this idea is toeing a fine line between interest and squick-fest for me. lol. i'm definitely looking forward to see how this deviates from the original. i'm already glad tho that there is no woman. ha

I must admit that I don't even know why it took me so damn long to read this masterpiece.
I started because a friend of mine who has also read this, told me that it was worth the try and I have to say that, indeed, it was well worth the hours I've spend reading this.
I loved the way you pictured everything, not too detailed but neither lacking of its details.
The way you pictured every single character, the way you made everything come to life... It mesmerized me from start to end and found myself not willing it to end.
Even told my mom (yeah, I live with her despide I'm 24 yo xD) that I didn't want to end.
Bill's so cute, so adorable, even when he went wild and killed David (which I think was a well deserved death).
I do't even know how to word everthing I felt -what I still feel- with this story.
You're writing is so perfect and the story just touched me so deeply. I have to admit I haven't watched the movie, but thaht makes me want to do it now. I'll need to find it somehow.
Congratulations for such an amazing story.
Lots of love for you and your little girl.
Author's Response: Thank you so much--this is such a lovely review! I'm thrilled to hear you liked the descriptive passages. I do try to strike that balance, where it's not overly descriptive, but provides enough detail for you to picture it.

God the ending just seems so sad. Like the future is uncertain and they may never have their freedom. But this was so good and I might even watch the movie one day! ^^
Author's Response: That's exactly what I wanted to portray, so I'm glad it came across! Everything is very uncertain, and they may have just gotten themselves a more attractive prison, but at least they're together. Thanks so much for reading!

This was so... Ugh, I don't even know. The one moment I was like FUCKSHITNO and the other like FUCKYES *victory dance*. This story gave me some really intense feelings and some things were REALLY unexpected, which made it even more exciting. My heart went like crazy all the time, I give you that. :P And aw, Tom was really sweet with Bill. :3 He could be better though and let the little thing sleep in the same bed with him and not on the couch. >_>
The end was sweet but sad at the same time. A sequel would be great to show us their life in the next years and I so hope that something GOOD will happen and Bill would be able to go out. T_T This is sooo unfair for him. And that no one will watch them anymore. >_<
Anyways, great and well written story! Good job! :D
P.s.: I wanted to kill Georg so badly... Like, seriously.
Author's Response: I'm so glad to hear you found the story exciting! And don't worry--Bill didn't sleep on the couch for long (how could Tom resist him, after all?)

You write the BEST creature fics I have ever read. This includes the many I have read in any other fandom. I am not only talking about Splice, I am also talking about Enter the Dragon and its sequel. They are just so believable in every aspect. Bill's mannerisms, Tom's inner monologue, all of it. I love your stories and... since you're on a creature kick anyway, might I request one where Tom, and not Bill, is the creature? I would be interested in seeing something like that and I think it would be challenging to find an appropriate creature, don't you think? Any way, well done. Loved it thoroughly :)
Author's Response: Not to overly pimp my own stuff, but have you read "Beast"? That was actually my first creature fic, and Tom is the creature. I rather liked him as the creature, with Bill being the 'normal' one. I'm glad you enjoyed this story, and the dragon ones!

Oh, goodness. I stumbled upon this story today, and I am so glad that I did. I loved the way Bill grew up, and Tom's emotional/moral struggles all along. They were both so real.
I liked the ending a lot, though of course there's that part of me that's screaming, "But what happens next?" I think the moral ambiguity works well with the entire story and with the concept in general - how could it possibly become clear-cut in any way?
Thank you for the amazing story!

Oh and B.T.W : How's the baby coming along for you ?
Author's Response: Good, thanks! She's seven weeks old now, and I starting to adjust to being tired all the time, LOL!

Oh my godd ,
I just watched Splice then I ran over to this story and it is like wayyyyy better!
Dren at the end was ... sorta .. Well here is how I looked O.O
I totally cried when Dren killed the cat with her tail ...
Im such a pansy -3-
Well Brava , very descriptive .
Author's Response: I was so upset when the cat died! That was definitely one thing I refused to put in my story. I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

For several minutes after reading this, I was the poster child of 'dumbstruck'. This ending...I feel like it's some sort of bittersweet thing. I was feeling happy for them, because they can be together, but I still have to wonder if that's a life I'd want for myself or anyone I love. Hiding, never able to see or talk to any other people. Bill must be lonely, I'm sure.
And their future being so uncertain, Tom's lack of knowledge about almost everything, makes me uneasy, not to mention the morally wrong idea (at least I think it is) of bringing to life beings that will be intelligent, will feel, will know what happens and might be unhappy, forced to live in a world that doesn't want them, further than just to poke and prod in their bodies.
Yes, this was an ambiguous ending, but it was not the ending that left me all...*struggles to find a word in vain*, it was the whole story. From the very beginning, I had questions that I knew had no answer, no appropiate one. To the point that yesterday (when I went to bed after reading chapter 8) I could not sleep.
I think you went further than the love story or the moral questions here, at least you brought my mind further than there, and caused me to think about things I hadn't thought about before. It was a very inspiring story.
I don't know if I made any sense, but I think I need to sort out the thoughts in my brain now for a while. Thanks for that.
Author's Response: This is such a lovely review--I'm so glad that you found the story inspiring! I definitely wanted to raise some unanswerable questions, and explore a lot of moral gray areas, so I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed that aspect of the story!

Woow :O
All I got to say after seeing Splice :O
When the movie started, I was expecting to see Tom :P but unfortunately it wasn't him ):
But okay, I really didn't like the end of the movie, it's so weird! And the creature, Dren, was so mean and scary at the end that she, or he, whatever it was, gave me the creeps.
I've gotta say, your story is so much better, they should make movie of it, with Bill and Tom (:
Author's Response: I agree, I didn't like what they did with Dren's character at the end. I thought that she had been very sympathetic throughout the film, and then once she changed gender she became a totally different character. The unsatisfying ending was one of the reasons why I wanted to write this story, to keep the creature character in a more sympathetic light.

Next Friday I'm finally going to see Splice in the cinema in another town, after I found out the movie wasn't going to come to my town.
I really can't wait! =)

Finally got around to finishing reading this, I tell RL can be a pain in the bottom!
I really loved the ending, it was a very well produced idea from the beginning, and the development and growth of the story was just fantastic.
But this ending, this is the best, because this is where Bill calls the new wombs their children and Tom had to think twice about not it not being his job to take care of the creatures once they come out.
I really loved how you ended it, the contradiction really was the cherry on top.
Very well written, tremendous job ^^
And I wish you all the best with the baby =)
Author's Response: I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the ambiguity of the ending!

Wow, I like how that ended. I miss movies like that. Where it leaves the viewers thinking and wondering as to what next. I don't need a sequel, don't want one, it will mess up what was already perfected. Of cores I am going to worry about the children, though there is nothing that we can really do about it. In a way Tom singed an agreement through Bill's life. Bill lives the word holds.
On another note I am sorry that I didn't get around to reading the last chapter sooner. I knew it was going to be the last chapter and I didn't want the story to end just yet. Thank you for the entertainment.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked the ending!
