When I got my license I was living in Oklahoma and we could take the test either with an auto or a standard.... Driving a stick is optinal, although I think it comes in handy to know how to drive one. Your not limited to a certain kind of car.... When my kids get old enough, I will teach them to drive one as well. I think that I will teach them how to drive in general, not a big fan of the drivers of Idaho... they suck and I'm going to end this before I get started on that one....

~Breathes~ okay, that seriously rocked. i could't breath for, fuck if i dont know how long. long enough to fall out of my chair, freak out my dog, break a coffee table, scream, twitched, and make it to the rest room and go before i made any more of a mess. that was awesome, i wish there was more of this.

My uncle taught me... the first time I got in my car and yes, I made the mistake of buying a stick shift as my first car without knowing how to drive it, the price was to damn good to pass up.... but anyway, the first time I got behind the wheel, he made me get used to the feet movements, going back and forth between the three pedels and shifting... although when I did start actually start driving it, I never killed it
Author's Response: I killed it all the time. Guess that's why I never tried again. Here, I think one is obliged to learn the stick and since we got ourselves automatic now, I am not seeing that pink (as it is here) note in my wallet any time soon. Congratulations on yer license! ;p
