Author's Response: Just the time period, lol. At that time in history, couples werent supposed to sit beside each other at dinners and such. It wasnt proper. Also, once a person got married, it was improper for them to dance at balls. It one book written in the same era one of the guy mentions 'its the end of my dancing days' because he's gotten married. Married couples didn't really get to be affectionate in public. 'Dating' couples even less, lol.

“Can I ask his name?” Georg asked, and they women laughed.
“Yes of course, dear!” his mother said, and Mrs. Trumper nodded.
“His name is Bill. He’s a bit shy but I promise you he’ll make a very agreeable companion,” she said.

1) I was just wondering, how come Georg asks Bill's name when his mother had only just mentioned it when talking about Bill being unhappy with getting married etc.
2) I've not completed reading the first chap yet as I am writing this, but i did read your notes at the beginning. Ignore them if they are foolish enough to make their dummy comments. If it's AU, they should understand well enough. And they should appreciate that the time period you've chosen to write is difficult enough without anyone trying to be Captain Obvious about it. Even if homosexuality was not "allowed" that certainly doesn't mean it didn't exist at that time . Keep writing, ignore the dummies.

wow that totally sucks... haha don't feel bad. i stay awake till 5 in the morning, then go to sleep, EVERY DAY. bad habit... but every story that i'm in the middle of reading gets updated at night :P
Author's Response: I used to, but since the world cup started i've been getting up at 9:30 every morning. I've gotten to being asleep to get at least 5 hours each night, lol.

I feel fine NOW that i need to go to bed, but i've been falling asleep randomly all day... sinus headaches make me LITERALLY just fall over asleep... i fell out of my chair once, lol. I missed most of BOTH of todays matches because I fell in and out of sleep for all day for like... 10 minutes asleep and then half an hour awake *cringe*
