More, yay! I love how mysterious Bill is, his cool manner ("in the kind of clipped, polite tone used by a person who wanted to be rude" -- I know exactly what you're talking about!) at first and then warmer when Tom gives him candy. *g* I love that Tom gave him some! And I love their interaction all in all: Bill's reactions to Tom, shocked, startled, annoyed; Tom wanting to touch him to soothe him, and Tom being so taken aback by how beautiful he is.
I liked the fierce description of "most birds larger than a grapefruit." I really like that there are so many animals in this story. And that they talk, of course.
The ending is very intriguing! I'm looking forward to reading more. I'm kind of hoping Tom will sweep Bill off his feet. *g*

I've only watched the anime version of Petshop of Horrors, but I really liked it, so a story that is loosely based on it sounds awesome. *-* So far it's very intriguing and I can't wait to see how everything will turn out!
