OK, whether or not Stephanie was oblivious or had unrealistic expectations, that totally sucked for her. For not only your boyfriend to cheat, but to find him *in bed* with someone else, and for that person to be your friend... if I was her, and my boyfriend was standing next to his lover saying he loved *him*, I think I might have gone for the double homicide. I like Tom and Bill. I think they're sexy and desirable. But they are the bad guys assholes in this. At least they have each other.
Author's Response: If it had been me, someone would have been leaving in a stretcher. I always tell my husband, if you don't want to be with me just tell me, it'll hurt, but not as much as it will when I pound your face in after I find out you cheated on me. I agree they were complete assholes, but that's what I like about fiction; I can make people do things I would never do or condone in a million years.

I'm glad they broke up. Stephanie may have been a good person and all but she was, in a way, controlling. She called him non-stop, she moved in on his territory, meaning his house, she never left him alone really, unless he was at work or if she was in classes. That isn't a healthy relationship plus he didn't want children and he didn't want to get married, I know for sure I would have reacted the same way, but I see why Tom did what he did, although I don't agree with his cheating.
