This was an extremely interesting story. Especially Bill's apathy. He's not trying to escape. Eventually he's probably safest where he is even if he reckons it will end with him dying there.

Luce... Should I be worried? I don't know though, it's fitting, it's growth. You've grown, I've grown, this site has grown, the twins have grown, and you're writing too. It's changed, expanded, become more mature, more descriptive, professional.
There are published authors out there *coughstephaniemeyerscough* that can't write HALF as well as you can.
This story was amazing, painful and raw with so many different dimensions and levels that it could easier be turned into a full page book but is perfect as a short story.
I don't know where you are or what you are doing right now but I hope you're still writing, maybe working towards a degree in something to do with literature, or maybe not, maybe it's something that fuels your imagination and helps you create peices of art like this. Either way, you have a gift and I cannot thank you enough for sharing it.

I think it is amazing to see how much you have progressed as a writer, you've always been good, but it's fun to see how you have evolved and sort grown up and into it. This story really shows this! It's gritty, dirty, real och honest in a way that really gets under the skin of the reader. Beautifully done! :)
Also, I would like to read some of your other stories and actually got an LJ-user, but since I've never used it before I don't really understand anything of it... do I have to be your friend on LJ to read your stories or how does it work? Hope everything is good with you, I really miss your stories on this forum...

I'm writing in these low profile fandoms now and there is a long way between each review, I really appreciated this so much! And the fact that it's you...you've been my hero for ages, I miss your writing, too ;) I would love it if you read some of my other stories, I actually have one in for beta now that I think you'll like! Very different from what you usually write indeed. But I'm glad to see you haven't stopped writing altogether.
I think you have described Bill's feelings and Tom's monstruosity very well.
What are the other fandoms you're interested in these days?

I'm very happy you liked it ^^ I'm writing for Veronica Mars and The Vampire Diaries at the moment, but I have a lot of plot bunnies for tons of different shows and movies laying around. Hey Luce!
Long time no write, on both of our parts, I know, but if I told you the half of it we'd be here forever.
I'll start w/ this story. It was so different than what I'm used to from you yet it was so amazing and so well written, I could visualize evertying, see the filth, smell the sour stench of unwashed bodies, dried blood, and sickness. It wasn't a happy story by any means but it was amazing, I'm sure I've said this before but you seriously have a gift.
The way war caused these boys to deteriorate into a primal state, a heart of darkness (which is a fantastic, overly complicated book that I strongly reccomend) felt dead on to me. Like, yes, this is what happens, this is how sweet, normal kids get so screwed up.
It was just... I don't know, you should be making money off this or something.
On a related note have you ever read 'The Things They Carried' by Tim O'Brien? He writes war stories/novels based on his experience and that book was actually quite good. It's a series of short stories so if you don't like one you can just move on to another. It's similar to the story you wrote.
On a more unrelated note, where else are you writing? Please don't make me go looking for you (which I'll do if I have too). I love your stories and will read anything you write. Honestly I'm not a smitten w/ the twins as I used to be, it doesn't mean I'm not here a lot, if just means I'm beginning to get my life back after something like two years, lol.
I have a new email address now so if you want to contact me just go to my bio and click the contact button and it'll find me. Really my life hasn't been overly interesting lately and I'm so distracted I just sorta stopped writing. I should have been more eloquent about it I know.

This is really good--I usually say something like, 'I loved this' in reviews, but that sounds weird for something this dark. Suffice it to say that this is really well written and compelling; two words of dialogue in the whole thing, and yet completely captivating. I think you captured the emotional quality of the situation perfectly, and blend of disgust and attraction that Bill feels for Tom is exactly right. I'm glad to see something new from you, and I hope you'll continue to drop by even though you're involved in other fandoms now.

I'm so happy to see a story from you on here again! This is much darker than what I'm used to from you, but I really loved it. In one chapter you were able to create a very vivid and seemingly real world. This was so intense and I really enjoyed reading it!
