LOL, i know you said "i hope it's not too sad" but it was and i actually had tears in my eyes near the ending!
It was amazing though, i really enjoyed reading it! I find history fascinating, and you worked it into the story perfectly! :) It was written so propper too! I really like how you made Bill's character, my favourite part is when Bill asks, "Are you an Angel?" <-- SOO adorable, i laughed and then noticed how quiet i was being while i read this story, i couldn't pull my eyes away!
At the end, when I read that she was pregnant, i was so excited, and then when Bill passed away without even finding out about the baby! Laura you broke my heart with that paragraph!! :(
LOL, But then at the end when you wrote about having a part of him inside of her, and something to always hold onto; it kinda mended the heart a bit! ;) Haha
Anyway, to sum it all up :) "PERFECT!" I really like it, and i would write more in this review, but i think i'd run out of space : LOL, but just let me say, that there should be so many more stories on this site with the members of TH being soldiers ;)
I hope that you keep writing one shots, because you do extremely well with expressing the emotions of your characters and placing the settings through your writing... great story, favouring it, don't stop writing love!

so Laura, guess what? I couldn't fall asleep so I read your one shot. Hun the summary only was truely beautiful, the banner suits well. To me it sounds like a lady's telling an old story. Just like "The notebook" or "Big Fish" I think. I like your type of writing, it's easy to read. Wow imagining Bill being a soldier who finally dies is hard to have right before my eyes if you get what I mean^^ it brought me to tears a bit. But I guess passing away with knowing you'd someone who loved you is good.
