I do prefer end note translations, really. I do feel they interrupt the flow of the story as it is now. I'm loving the story, it seems Bill is a lot more religious than Tom, but that works perfectly for them. I loved that Tom took him to such a wonderful, meaningful place. I really hope King Jorg doesn't discover Bill is the Prince of the Poseidonians until Georg has a chance to tell Tom so they can do something about it. I'll be looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Bill is very religious so the fact that Tom took him to the forefront of worship (i.e. the Sea) was a big deal for Bill. As for King Jorg... you'll just have to wait and see!

This story is really pulling me. I think you are right the translations belong in the end notes, because when they are in the story they really break up the flow. Can't wait to read more.
Author's Response: More soon!!

end note. they interrupt the illusion of tom not understanding bill, and it is also a little confusing.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review!

omg ty so much for taking my idea to heart.. much easier for me.. but then again im a slow aka stupid. lol so i need things side by side/ spelled out for me. lol but anyway great update. i will be waiting on pens and needles for the next update.
Author's Response: You're welcome =) I just always assume that the fans have basic knowledge of German for some reason, and I always forget that many of the foreigners do not know any German besides the band's lyrics. So yea, you're not stupid, I just overestimate everyone's German skills. Ehh... hopefully some readers will learn a bit of German from this fic :)

I seriously love this story. It's extreamly Romeo and Juliet (which is how most twicest fics turn out) to be in love with the one person you know you cant have is heartbreaking. (And alot of fun to read about) Please draw this story out though i hate long fics i really dont want this one to end but i cant wait for you to post again (such conflicting thoughts lol) Anyway great story!
Author's Response: I'm glad you like it so much! Right now, I'm unsure of how long this will end up being. I do want to keep it going for a while though, so you're in luck! Oh, and I love Romeo and Juliet btw XD

Thank you for your incredably long responce to my previous review. You obviously took it into consideration in this chapter as evidenced by Tom's conversations w/ both Georg and Tobi. It makes much more sense now, both the war and Bill's lack of understanding the common tongue.
I also appreciate the mention of propaganda, how both sides use it, although I have only really seen one side it is clear as day, I also see more than a bit of manipulation of the part of the priests (though I'm not sure if they truly believe themselves or not). Thank goodness Tom is so cynical.
I'm assuming Georg just discovered the truth? What will Tom say?
Author's Response: You're welcome =)rnHmm...and you'll just have to wait and see!!

Thank you for the translation this time. much appreciated. I feel the need to leave a bit of criticism, now that my initial amazment at this story has worn off (though don't think I've fallen out of love w/ it, if you stop updating you will be hearing from an irate me). Posidon and Apollo were not enemies, they rarely crossed paths though if I had to wager a bet I'd say Posidon would win b/c he's one of the original olympians and an uncle to Apollo. Another flaw is that gay relationships were not frowned upon. Zeus (the god of gods) was happy to have sex w/ anything that moved, male, female, animal... you get the picture. In fact in the military homosexual relationships were common if not encouraged. I don't think any of the gods would frown upon Bill for his homosexuality, they might prefer that he sire an offspring at somepoing w/ someone of the right family but faithfulness, particularly from the men was not a necessity. And yeah, I'm a little obsessed w/ Greek mythology. I can't help it.
All that being said however if I ignore the names of the gods (b/c none of the rituals have been right anyway) the story is very interesting. One thing I don't understand is how Bill does not understand Tom, if Tom was under the impression that Bill's people spoke the same language as him then Bill should be fluent in both languages. Not just and out of date one.
Ok, I think I've complained enough, don't change anything, just keep writing so I get to find out what's going to happen! ;)
Author's Response: I just read your review and wow! This is the most awesome criticism I have EVER recieved!! *gives cookie* I'm going to confess that I only have a minimal knowledge of mythology, so it's great to hear from someone who's obsessed with the subject :) (My obsession is WWII btw...) I know that Poseidon and Apollo were not enemies. I chose to use those two gods because they are the gods I know the most about, and I wanted Bill and Tom's characters to reflect a bit of their respective country's god. I base the controversy between the Apollonians and the Poseidonians somewhat on the continuous wars between Athens and Sparta. You probably already know this, but those two Greek city-states were constantly at war. Why? Because both wanted to prove, "Hey, we're so much better and stronger than you guys...so suck it." That's basically the same kind of war that is going on between Apollonia and Poseidonis- it's just a conquest for power.rnrnAnd I know that homosexuality was not frowned upon at this time and that many of the gods and ancient Greeks were involved in same-sex relationships. Actually, a funny little fact I learned in my World Hist. class is that ancient Greek women (from Sparta) were forced to shave their heads on their wedding night to make them seem more like men to their husbands (who had spent almost all of their lives beforehand in the company of men in the military). In this story, it is not the God's who frown apon homosexuality, but the royal families on both sides. How can their sons continue provide heirs if they cannot have children? So they overstep their bounds by saying homosexuality goes against the gods. Also, if Bill and Tom were both gay and their parents were totally okay with it, Bill would be all too willing to sleep with Tom and Tom would have no reason to keep Bill's true sex a secret. The boys would do it in less than five seconds, the kindgoms would be safe, and sadly, there would be no story. rnrnOh, and as for why Bill speaks a different language than his people- In the Roman Empire (it's not Greek, I know...I'm combining several ancient cultures in this story) the educated language was Latin and if you didn't speak Latin, you spoke whatever your native dialect was (and were seen as common, and unsophisticated). Bill speaks the "educated" language of his people, and since he's lived a pretty sheltered life (spending almost every day in the castle or the temple) has unfortunately not learned the colloquial tongue. How would Bill rule when the time came? Interpreters. :)rnrnI hope I explained my reasoning well. Like I said, I only know minimal mythological history. rnP.S. I've acutally been to the temple of Poseidon in Greece (in Sunio), and it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen!! I've been to other temples as well, but that's my favorite!!
