I read your endnote :)
Loved it. In contrast I'm an extremely introverted person, and almost never talk to people. But I'm pretty talkative to those who are in my inner circle.
And I too have wanted to publish a book since late childhood XD

Random thing: I finally decided to stop avoiding "5 Steps to... what?!" and I saw your review on chapter three (I believe). Just wanna say that I completely agree with you on both counts. It's a shame that there's a bunch of grammatical errors even in late chaps, and I found out that Tom is NOT a sex therapist. (I too was completely thrown by the concept a therapist would actually have sex with you)
Turns out that Tom is a sex surrogate, which is technically in the field of sexual therapy, but is becoming banned in the states. I somewhat think the author should let people know that, instead of making us think all sex therapy includes physical interaction. Anyway, even though that was back in March, I thought I'd let you know, in case you were still wondering.

Author's Response: Haha~ I'm right on the line between extroverted and introverted. Most of the time I just open my mouth to blab and ramble, but depending on someone's aura, I can totally sit there like a deer in headlights and think of not a single thing to say. Ah the publishing dream... who knows~ It can come true for anyone of us one day. ^^

Oh my, that -is- random. xD Ah yeah... not that it's my place to say over here on B,A, but, yeah, I uh, decided to draw the line recently as well. *bites lip* However... well, at any rate, let's just say, being on THF for some time now, and getting to know some of the more prominent authors on this site through their work somewhat, it's really a tree too tall to bark at. (The cries likely won't be heard no matter how long you sit there and wail) I have a lot of thoughts (for lack of better word) on many, many attributes for that story, but it really would be better discussed elsewhere. I leave other authors to their own devices, and frustrated or not (as I have many, many pet peeves) I must recognise I am not perfect and try and concentrate on what I can handle, and what I like. Unfortunately, while I wish the grammar fairy existed, he does not and I gotta suck it up (See what I did there? No apostrophe! XD Rejoice, you!) *fingers twitching over the apostrophe key* On another note, it is good to hear sex surrogacy is dying out. I had no idea it existed... Good to know. (Perhaps the author too, found this out later in the game. *gives exaggerated shrug* O.o)

Anyways, thanks for your comments, sweets! ^---^

WARNING: I do comments in place of 'reviews;. They tend to be rather long and very detailed so if they bother and or annoy you let me know and ill stop.....

and 2nd of all: it's so totally WASNT lame .... how high school does that sound? lol

Poor Bill with his mother waking up the hobo's and such..lol

I really though the best friend was going to go with Bill. To bad that he isn't =/

Tom and the girl was funny and sad. If your that easily woo'd by the next guy why are you with your boyfriend? geez you're obviously not in love.... by the way she seemed ready to hop on tom i dont even think she was in like. smdh

The part with Tom being grabbed by that guy was a little confusing. How did he pull tom under his own chest? Can you explain that line to me? Oh and the part about thanking him on the album. I figure it was Tom but like I said that whole little part was confusing to me.

The next part where Tom and Bill 'meet' each is iffy. Not because it isn't well written but because of Bills attitude. Like what the hell is wrong with him doesn't he realize how wrong it is to make such bug assumes? When you assume you make an ASS out of U not ME (get it? lol)

I like that Tom was telling Bill to defend himself in his head. I t toke me reading it twice to get that though cause in so many stories iv read/am reading both of them have the last name of their step father.

Obviously I like that he stood up for Bill. Bill likes it too despite his bitchy attitude lol

I like that tom tried to talk to Tom. I dont quite get why Bill had to pop of at the mouth the way he did. Yes, I get that he hurt some of his friends but chances are he's only ever herd one side of those stories. Tom seems like a nice guy. Someone offers you their friendship and you drag them thru the mud shame on you Bill!

I wonder how long Tom's been playing guitar for Bill not to know about it the six years they were in school together. Better yet I wonder why he didn't notice the whole time they were on the train. I know they were in the dark for a while but the lights did come back on and knowing Tom he was clutching that instrument like it was wrapped with his life ..... Maybe-or at least im guessing-you just put that part in there for dramatic effect. It works im just a girl that ask a lot of questions. To manny??? Hope not any way iv damn near written a chapter of my own here so let me end with this: It was great. Sorry for any spelling errors in here im rushing thru this cause it's massively late where I am and I need to be working on my own story. Have more faith in you're writing girl!

Author's Response: Oh my, such a grand... comment? xD They don't bother me in the least, any feedback is nice. Well, back when I posted this first chapter, I was very, very uncertain of how I would be received on this site, is all. (I suppose I still am, but my anxiety is much more dulled these days.) So what you are reading here, is my original feelings. Thanks for your praise and your support though, I appreciate it all the same! =)
Um, as for the part in which Tom first enters the train (I understand the POV is a little strange, with all its switches, but it was my first chapter ever in fanfiction, so I was a little disorganised)is not from his POV, but from a older male passenger on the train. (He's a minor character later in the story) As for Bill not noticing till the end, that Tom plays guitar, well that illustrates that while he assumes he knows all about Tom, he in fact, knows very little. It plays out later in the story on various levels.
Thanks for reading and reviewing, you're too sweet. =)

Because I read this story straight without sleeping, I didn't stop to leave reviews for the previous chapters. Maybe I will once its finished. It definitely deserves more reviews than it has. I love your writing style. I like that even though there is clearly an attraction between Bill and Tom from the beginning, it doesn't focus on that, but on their friendship. I read it closely, and I really don't understand why disliked some chapters so much lol I actually liked all of them, even when Tom leaves Bill with the written letter. Anyhoo, I love your writing style, and I look forward to reading anything else you post. :)

Author's Response: Wow, you did! Gosh, thank you so much! ^---^ That's so sweet of you. B,A definitely isn't a story that was blessed with a large review count, and while I was heart broken at first, like I mentioned earlier on, the reviews it -did- get were overwhelmingly wonderful, so I think I was still very lucky. ^^
Your words are sweet, thank you for reading this, and telling me your feelings about it! I really hope you like the epilogue. =)

Heh, because I'm an idiot, the whole ending was pretty confusing to me. So they know who each other are. And are they going to start a real relationship? The "promise we'll never be friends" part really threw me.
What's interesting is that ever since I started reading this a couple months ago, I had thought one or both of them would find out they were the other's email pal while still disliking each other. So I was expecting a ton of shock, and this was more gradual.

Lol, anyway, I did love this story :) *heart*
And I'm about to read your long note at the end XD Just wanted to leave a review as soon as I was done with this chapter.

Author's Response: No! No, no, you're not an idiot. I suppose I wrote this chapter a little abstractly, It's all my fault. Sorry you were expecting an epic shock, however, as it is, Tom and Bill, apart from their emailing alter egos, have over time grown to like each other and consequently fall in love. There were so many hints and tip offs toward the end, that Tom knew it was Bill and Bill had a good idea it was Tom, so it was more relief and gratitude that they were who they wanted each other to be than shock I suppose.
The fact that Tom and Bill are telling each other they don't want to be friends -now-, is because they want to be -more than friends-. They don't want to remain in a non-romantic relationship, thus why Tom makes Bill promise he'll never treat him like a friend.

Oh that note. (.___.) *blush* Don't... bother. Huhuhu~ XD Haha~ *embarrassed* Seriously though, I'm so happy you loved this story, and thanks for reading and reviewing, it's always so, so appreciated. Truly~ ♥ I hope you enjoy the epilogue to come.

There was never any reason for you to be nervous about finishing this, you did it splendidly! *Sighs*

I was a bit confused about the opening at first, but when I realized what it was about (apologiez for being slow), it made my insides all warm an gooey.. In all seriousness, my heart was aching. Lovely, my dear, it was lovely! What can I say, I'm a sucker for heartfelt letters..which is why I don't really like the intewebs that much, and swear to paper and pen when it comes to writing the people I love. Okay, I do realize they were e-mails, but that isn't my point. I just wanted to say how glad I was that you put it in there, how sweet the e-mails were, and how sad I am that Tom never responded to his father. He'll probably regret it his entire life.. (Yes, I do realize I'm talking about fictional characters, but I honestly don't care. They're real to me!)

Of course Bill would bust Tom, we were all waiting for it! I'll give Tom a pat on the shoulder for doing the right thing, though, there was never any other option than turning them down. He couldn't have had both the Sterne job and Bill, and we all know that's not even up for discussion. "When in doubt, pick Bill." (You may quote me on that.) Seriously, ALWAYS pick Bill! ;)

Soooo, the ending was SO sweet! Bill being all reluctant about doing what he said he would, but going with it anyway. I will forgive him for being grumpy! And Tom, my sweet, sweet Tom... (I claim him, in the name of...me!) I can't tell him anything other than..good boy! Yes, Puppy!Tom has in fact become somthing of a personal favourite of mine. Thank you! :)

The ending was lovely and perfect, and lovely and...wait, I already said that.. *Giggles* Like I said, you had no reson to be nervous, I told you you'd do great, and you did! ;)

So, I'm not all that ready to let this story go just yet, so I won't! :p It's been such a wonderful journey, and I'm so happy that you've allowed us to tag along with you. I remember stumbling upon this by chance, and I've been hooked ever since. I'll tell you now, every time you've updated, you've brightened my day! And despite the ups and downs, you've always left me with a smile lurking on my lips.

See, you're not the only one who can rant! ;) Okay, so I won't say goodbye just yet, but wait patiently in my seat (whilst jumping up and down in excitement) for the epilogue. 'Till then, thank you, and good luck with whatever's next on your agenda. I'm sure it will be remarkable! ;)

Author's Response: *falls backward in a faint* You know, as I clicked 'add chapter', I did think of you. I remember you saying you had high expectations for the end, and reading it that time, I thought 'I've had the end planned out for 5 and a half months, and looking it over, there's no way she's gon'na find it amazing.' xD But you're here, now, and loving it, so I can be at ease.

The opening was, yes, a tad on the random side. I wanted a last-minute insight on Jörg's half of the story, and to illustrate Tom's motivation, encouragement and guidance in an abstract way. It's a bit strange and messy, I apologise, but in the end you understand I think. You're not slow at all, it was a fault of mine. Hey, loving and feeling for fictional characters just means you have an open heart. These characters represent real people, real emotions and a realistic(ish) situation, and it is totally legitimate. xD It's seriously cute, don't worry. ♥

Originally, Bill was to know about Tom's intentions regarding Sterne much, much sooner. Somehow, one of the changes that came about was the pushing back of Sterne's play in the plot. Some other things kind of took over, and in a natural shift which I felt was more or less out of my control... Sterne could only pop up at the very end. I was not about ready to leave it out. xD Hahaha! Oh yes, Bill is the answer to everything. ;D *quotes*

Puppy!Tom... T___T Images, images... images. T__T He is kind of like a puppy though, you're right. ò.ó *does a big HMMMMMM face* Aish, you really make me giggle. xD It's lovely, lovely, lovely, hmm? No, seriously, I'm totally honoured to have been part of the brightness in your day. I couldn't ask for anything more, that's already more than I deserve. Ranters unite! =___=; I love your rants, yours are the amusing kind, not like mine. xD (The incoherent, unnecessary kind xD)I hope you enjoy the epilogue, let's not let go just yet then! ^////^ ♥ Thank you, nevermind me. For everything. ^---^ ♥rn

I read this on my ipod on a dodgy connection in a hotel bar as I'm away at the moment, and I can honestly say I've been checking the updates just to see this being posted.

I adore this story so much, and you are so amazing as a writer. (I say this every time I review but until you believe it I'ma keep saying it :P)

The timescale ran perfectly and you researched everything thoroughly, which I totally appriciate because I know a lot of authors dive head first into a story and have no idea about traditions, or even basics in German life and make it up as they go along which takes away from the whole effect and the story loses the plot as it cannot keep consistant. This however flowed perfectly.

It was worth all the time you've put into it and could just as well be a story you buy in a bookstore. It has potential to go even further than this, you could have dragged it further but you've left it at a good spot.

I love this, honestly I am sad to see it end as I adore the characters you have created, the humorous, joking language and even your own characters in the story.

You ended it at perfectly, the raw emotion and realization when they finally find out that they are two halfs of a whole.

You are my favorite author on the site, ever since this started, and I was reviewing under a different name I knew this had potential and its gone above and beyond.

Very well done sweetheart, I know you've had troubles with your other story with the computer deleting it, but I am following that one as well and cannot wait for you to update that, and finish this with the epilogue.

I feel like I should send you flowers or something lmao.

*squeezes*
I hope you are well, and had a good weekend.

Author's Response: Now that's a place I didn't expect this to be read. xD Wouu... I have no idea where to begin, once again you make me feel absolutely unworthy of such high praise. *flush* ^////^
It's more than rewarding to hear that my timeline planning and research paid off, and was appreciated. I did it out of necessity, something I would do naturally, and yet it stood out as a special characteristic of this story to you, and I love it. It's sad others don't do as much research as they should, it is important. I -did- think about taking this further, but at the same time I felt a need to stop it at another beginning, of sorts. I'm glad you feel it is an appropriate place to stop. Some have asked about a sequel, and I had never had any ideas or plans for a sequel, to continue their journey... I have to say a few ideas have come about -now-, recently, but I'm unsure. For now, I think this is sufficient and I'm happy everyone else feels so too, so it seems.
I'm sad to see it go to, for many reasons; for my first fanfic characters, my little universe that I've escaped to for many months now, but for the reviewers and readers and all that that seems special with a first story. *sniffle* ;__;

To say I'm one of your favourite authors is just, wow, I don't know how to accept such a compliment. So, so, so sweet and makes me feel like I've accomplished something good. Thank you.
As for '14.', the story that suffered, I'm actually picking that back up this week, and will begin updating it again at last. It's something wonderful to know I may see a familiar face and a serious reader like you sometime again soon. ^^ It's been quite an honour friend, your reviews have been kind and encouraging, and it is definitely I who should be thanking you for seeing me through to the end! *hugs* Thank you so, so much, I can never say it enough, or convey it as strongly as I mean to. ♥

Awwwww, thank you for that lovely note, I missed reading/reviewing your stories, but RL has me caught in its evil clutches and I'm behind on almost everything. *sighs* However, I promise I'll try to catch up soon.

I just read the last two chapters and I'm kinda glad I couldn't read them apart, it was better like this for certain, then I didn't have to agonize over when would they meet again. And even then, it wasn't all puppies and roses, since there was the part where they saw each other at Sterne. I'm glad Tom didn't accept that opportunity, I'm even happier that Gustav kept him informed of Bill's steps and that he had the fairytale beginning he was yearning for. That was sweet.

Also loved the way Bill finally realized that Tom and TD were one and the same, how he started by noticing the gardenia to the point where Tom called him Red. It was awesome and realistic as the whole story has been. I'll be looking forward to the epilogue!

*hugs* And many thanks again,

Mari

Author's Response: No, no it's not a problem! I just wanted to acknowledge your reviews encouraged me to continue! Really, thank you. ^-----^
Thanks for being there, and being here. Glad you enjoyed the final chapter, and I hope to get the epilogue up soon. Real life is a priority and I hope everything is working out for you! My deepest thanks and heartfelt wishes~~~~ ♥

Author's Response: Yes, yes, I will tell you, there is in fact, an epilogue on the way! It will be 'Completed' after I get that up.
Thanks for reading, reviewing and loving it. It makes my day to know that, and I'm glad you recognise it a favourite.

*stands and claps* Oh Honey that was terrific, such a wonderful ending. I truly hope that Bill and Tom live a long and loving life together. Watching both of them grow as individuals and into the coming awareness of a couple has been an awesome journey.

I'm so happy that this has been a good journey for you too, I know I feel similarly as I go through a like process. I hope to read more of your work soon.

Thankyou. Keep writing and keep smiling. *huggles*

Author's Response: n___n You're too kind~~ It's been a pleasure to watch them grow too, from my side, as I grew a little along with them. I hope to one day see you again, perhaps on another work of mine or otherwise, as it has always been such a pleasant experience to read your sweet reviews. I hope you enjoy the epilogue and with that said, I thank you once more for reading, reviewing and loving this fic. ♥

oh god the emails from tom's father made me cry because i know how utterly lost my own father would be if i was gone, let alone unreachable.

aaaaaaw! they found each other~so effing cute...what more can i say but that I absolutely adored this chapter and all its predecessors--and I'll sorely miss it. (ill have to run by and check out your others :)

p.s. LOL dinner for one!!! read about that, and saw it, in high school xD

i wish i could think of more to say, you deserve it, but im dead tired and in an effort to not sound trite and insincere, ill stop here. thanks for the ride!

Author's Response: *hands kerchief* Aww~~ ^--^ Glad they touched you. Those emails were a little heart-wrenching for me to write, too. ;__;

You're another one of the reviewers I was able to look forward to for quite some time throughout this story, and it's been a pleasure. I'm glad I pleased you and you've enjoyed this like you have. It's something I can take as a win, and be proud for it. This is the first serious review i've left someone in a long time so forgive me for the fail.
I read this all in one sitting and it was so gorgeous. You have a very different writing style to anything I've seen on this site before and I adore it.
I loved everything about this story, the slow build up of their relationship, the OCs (I even loved Alfonse!) and just everything about it was absolutely stunning.
Now I'm off to go read everything else you've written :P
I hope you continue writing fic for this fandom for a long long time because you are a fantastic writer and I can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Author's Response: Not a fail, not in the least~ ^^
*jaw drops* In one sitting? Are you serious? I've noted that the 93,000 words (thus far) in this fic add up to that of an average sized novel... now I'm impressed, and honoured. :D Thank you for that compliment, it's always nice to hear people find my writing unique. It's fuzzy and nice. ^--^ Glad you love it. ♥
Wow you even liked my OCs, now that is an accomplishment! Yahoo~ Oh my~~ *flush* Now I'm becoming self conscious again. XD I wouldn't rush, I don't have much of anything fabulous done yet (all very n00b-ish pieces), but I have more stories I plan to share in the future.

Your words have been too kind, and I'm grateful for your praise and for your enjoying this fic in which I've worked so hard on. I hope to meet you again in the future!

For a looong time, this had been one of the fics that I kept seeing on the 'Recent' page and forced myself to NOT start reading it. I had read your 'Superman' which had deeply touched me (aka I was bawling like a baby but don't tell anyone) so I knew I was definitely going to love 'Berlin, Anonymous' too but I can't, really really can't stand reading a story that isn't finished. It's a mix of impatience and fear that I'll start reading it and fall in love with it and then the author will just... disappear.

Anyway, sorry for rumbling. I eventually gave in a couple of weeks ago and read all of it (up until chapter 12 back then) and I was sooo eager for the updates. I instantly fell in love with your characters and even though I thought the whole e-mailing thing wouldn't work out for me (there had been a lot of stories with that concept), boy was it amazing. I loved it a lot and it wasn't the typical cliche'd thing I thought it would be.

I'm feeling bad I never reviewed before and I hope you can forgive me and any other reader who hasn't reviewed either. I am always too shy to leave a couple of words and I almost never have something interesting to say so I just don't say anything. I realize it's a bad thing, that even a "Good job!" is enough for the author to feel their work is being appreciated but I hardly ever review. I'm very sorry I did it with your fic too because I deeply enjoyed it and it has helped me quite a lot the last weeks that I've been feeling miserable...

Anyway, huge review is huge and it's not even a review. Just wanted to share with you that my most favorite scene was the one of Bill and Tom in the train, from the first chapter, where Bill told Tom all those things about them not being able to ever be friends and how he felt guilty about it later. I was so glad to see you mention that moment later on and it seemed like such a crucial thing in these last chapters, the whole "we can't be friends" thing. So I really loved Tom's words and how you've wrapped the whole story up. It was a beautiful journey that I'll miss, but I'm sure I'll be back to visit this universe again and again later.

Sorry for all the unnecessary information! Thanks for writing this beautiful story and I'm looking forward to the epilogue.

Author's Response: *blink* Oh~ This is lovely! o.o I share your sentiments about unfinished fics, though unlike you I have no willpower. Many a time I read them anyway. As I've said in a previous chapter's author note, authors who go on hiatus without warning, or abandon stories for months and months, if not ever returning to them, well I find that irresponsible. Of course if you have a good reason that is one thing, but there are cases where people just write, get people hooked and decide they don't want to bother. It should be a team effort, between writer and reader, I think. I have two stories on hiatus right now, and one of them is for physical reasons, but by no means have I abandoned either. Anything I start, I mean to finish, unless for some crazy reason of one type or the other, bars me from doing so. This story always had an ending, since the first chapter, and over the course of six months, I somehow managed to put out decently spaced out updates (minus a few rough periods in the middle area, but that was due to outside forces beyond my control). If I ever have the honour of your reading of another fic of mine, know that I won't abandon it unless there is an extreme circumstance. I see things through to the end.

I can forgive you all, as I said, silent readers too (and I get roughly around 2-400 views per chapter consistently, which...) make it possible, because as hard as it is to see view counts go up and reviews counts stand still, it is worse to not see view counts go up at -all-. The fact that someone was reading it, was still worth writing for. Thanks for reviewing now though, as now I know you've read through and you're telling me your thoughts now, and that's fantastic too! I didn't mean for anyone to feel guilty, but your mentioning that even the simplest of words helps an author is right on the money. I for one spent often days at a time writing, proofreading (a big one), researching for each single chapter, so a couple of reviews in return is the world when you're putting yourself out there. I'm glad that my fic was able to make you feel better in hard times, that's the best feeling an author can have.

The train scene was my least favourite, but as self-conscious as I am, I was doubly so with that chapter. xD I'll never forget the anxiety I felt posting that, and it didn't leave me alone thereafter either! XD Glad you liked it. There is no such thing as unnecessary information, only extras and tidbits, and I like your not-so-review review as it is. xD Thank you very, very much for reading, reviewing (as it is never to late to do so), and sharing your wonderful thoughts with me. ♥

What a wonderful speech Tom made. I wasn't sure how their meeting was going to go but I really did love how you wrote it. I'm not good with really long, exploratory reviews but do know I really loved this story and everything you've written. And of course, I very much look forward to the epilogue. :)

Author's Response: I'm so ready to die (go to sleep), but I must respond first. It's totally fine that winding reviews aren't your thing. The fact that you enjoy my stories and let me know it warms my heart in ways I can't explain. Thanks for sticking with this story, darling! I feel extremely bad for never reviewing this before (at least, I can't remember reviewing it) and now I really feel the need to tell you that you have write a simply amazing story. I've been following this story for quite some months and every chapter just let me crave for more and more and I could barely wait the days left until the next update.

There are some stories where Bill and Tom talks through emails on the site, but for me, 'Berlin, Anonymous' is the top one and I really feel like a part of me is kind of an orphan, now that the story is (almost) finished. You really did an amazing job and I hope I'll read more from you soon (I already put my eyes on the one about chocolate, I just need to find the time to start it). Your characters were amazing, the plot intriguing and the end is just perfect. Thank you for this story.

Author's Response: Well whether you have or haven't, I'm super appreciative to find your review here and now. I'm touched that you think it is amazing, even if I'm not convinced. I'm really glad you enjoyed it when you did, even if I didn't know about you loving it. You still liked it, and I'm happy!
That's certainly a compliment! Top one, really thank you. I'm super glad you feel that way. I'm sad it's finished too, this was my baby, my first, it's... whaai, it's everything. I too, hope you can read more for me! I'd love to hear your thoughts; yes 'Esoteric Affairs/Belgian Chocolate' is my newest baby, I'm throwing myself into that story the way I did with 'B,A' too. If you get around to reading it, hope you like it too! Anyways, thanks for your review, and for loving this story as it feels as though it is a part of me. Hope you enjoy the epilogue~ Take care! n__n
