Okay, so, first of all, I wanted to answer your response, because I feel the need to apologise, maybe I didn't express myself correctly. When I pointed out that that sentence about Bill looking innocent, I didn't mean that single sentence ruined the first chapter. It really didn't. It's just that Bill being the innocent, little, fragile kid next to Bushido, the big strong man, is probably a cliché, and calling him innocent is pushing THAT description of Bill dangerously close to that cliché. That's it. But the story is not reduced to a cliché in my eyes, I was just referring to that line, and that one only. I do know that one line only doesn't exert that much of an influence, there were other whole paragraphs after that. So I'm sorry you said "Maybe I combined their thoughts in the wrong way", no no, you really didn't. The story was perfect as usual. Jeez. I'm praying to God that makes sense, because if we were speaking in person, I'd be just babbling like crazy.
Second point, ohhhh yes I do know what you mean. And you shouldn't have mentioned a physical fight between Bill and Bushido because now I'm completely speechless and curious. *-*
(That's the most fangirl side of me).
Actually when I mentioned the physical difference, I didn't mean their height--well, I do know that Bill is taller. What I meant is that he's far thinner. I haven't seen proper videos or pictures of them together, so I can't tell, but that's how I like to imagine them. If you feel like they're about the same weight too, then cheers!, I'm still waiting for that scene, lol.
As for this chapter, I'm so glad there was another dream. I'm sure I've already told you how I appreciate dreams and their meanings, if the author knows how to write about them--and you seem to write well profound and meaningful dreams, I love it so much.
Ohhhh I couldn't really wait to see Bill get better, even if it was just a little bit! FIN-AL-LY! :D
Well, I still enjoy it for the fact that you're keeping things slow, it makes the whole story very believale and touching.
Can't wait for more Bill/Bushido moments!

i think i cried in almost every chapter in obloquy...it was so sad...
i'm glad that bill is finally beginning to move on..i think while tom has a very special place in his heart...i think bushido may have one too

Hi Raiju! I'm a new reader ^^.
First of all I have to say that English is not my mother language, so excuse me if my review is not understandable :S
Well, I read a time ago "Just To See You Smile" when it was finished already, and I loved that story! And when I discovered that you were writing a billshido, I told myself "this time I have to review although she doesn't understand me" xD
I cried with "Obloquy" and now I'm crying too with "What Patience Earns", but luckily there is more hope for Bill and the love in this one, isn't it? :)

'Those words led Bushido to think a little more about what had happened- how Bill was pounding back those drinks over and over again without hesitating. All along they were egging him on when something might really be wrong- when he might not be doing it just to impress them. He was trying to drown himself in them…'

Oh you've changed your banner? I'm not sure which one I liked the best, but this one is really cool! :D
And I'm so glad you don't wait too much to update, I couldn't stand the wait. I can't explain to myself why this story isn't much reviewed, well, I would expect it to be followed by more people, especially Billshido fans. Oh well. *shrugs*
Whenever Bushido calls Bill kid I can feel my heart warming. I've always loved the fact that Bushido is older than Bill, and everytime that age difference is pointed out, I squeak (yes, squeak). That's definitely my favourite part in Billshido fics. Oh, I also like it when the author underlines the fact that Bill's body is very tiny, especially against Bushido's. *melts away*
However, there's something I'm not sure I liked.
"Across the table, Bill looked so innocent, so unknowing and timid." - Ummm. Yes, I know I've just said that Bill is tinier and younger than Bushido. I also know that as a matter of fact, in our fantasies, Bill is mostly a little innocent kid compared to Bushido. Is he, though? Bill's not at all inexperienced. I understand that in this fiction Bill is broken because of all that he's gone through - and is still going through - but he's a man nonetheless, and calling him 'innocent' or 'timid' really makes him sound like he's too fragile even to be touched. I mean, it's lovely how Bushido is taking care of him, and I can't wait to see Bill get better, but I wouldn't want this concept to be over stressed. That would reduce the story to a cliché in my eyes, I fear.
However, I'm not saying I'm changing my mind about this fiction, of course. I'm still loving it so much and it's such an original Billshido. Oh, I'm so glad that this chapter was pretty long. :)

Author's Response: If I remember right (oh wow, I had to go back and THINK about my state of mind when this happened in this chapter you just read, which is currently 14 chapters ago to me.) upon first read I can see how it'd be seen as a 'oh poor little girly bill' moment like everyone obsesses over, but in the paragraph as a whole I meant that moment to be more of Bill and Bushido thinking 'you have NO idea what you're getting into' and Chakuza thinking Bill's an absolute pushover. Maybe I combined their thoughts in the wrong way. Unlike most writers, no worries~ I'm actually very aware that Bill and Bu are about the same height and weight (actually Bill's like an inch taller...nobody gives him credit for that, but that single inch makes a HUGE difference to me) and really, he's not much smaller than Bu. That's why I'm being careful as to how they handle each other (Bu carrying him sometimes) or how physically strong they would be with/against each other. I use this things to my advantage later on- you'll see!
