I know I keep saying stuff like this, but honestly there are about two chaptered stories that make me want to cry as I go through them. Usually it's oneshots that make me cry because they're so impacting and definite and over right away and it just hits you, and chaptered stories tend to lose that effect. But not this one. This one is...wow. Beautiful and amazing and I love it to pieces.

The love and understanding and compassion between these two really staggers me sometimes. I know that family often tries to help when their members fall ill, but Bill has been unwavering in this. There's never any yelling at Tom or real exasperation, and I think that's wonderful.

o my gosh. My heart broke when i found out that Tom has been diagnosed for Alzheimer's. This has got to be one of the most beautiful stories I have and will ever read. I will be anticipating for the next chapters.. and the glorious end.

This story has become so sad but in a way that's a good thing! It's taken it to a whole other level of depth and emotion that really makes this fic one of the best on this site. It's so sad to see Tom forgetting things so easily although I do have a question for you . . . . doesn't Alzheimer's disease normally begin later in life? I'm amazed that 47(?) Tom has had such an early onset. I really feel for the poor guy
Author's Response: It does normally begin much later in life, yes. At the age Tom's been diagnosed it is highly unusual and highly rare, but it is possible - the reason it's so young in this fic is because the diagnosis and progression match something I've lived through personally with a loved one, so this was my way of working through it all. Even amongst early onset cases the age of 46/47 is pretty exceptional - normally 'early' is still into the 50s and mostly it's past 65+ that you see the disease. I'm glad you're enjoying the fic though and I'm sincerely touched you feel it's one of the best on the site; that really means a lot to me.
