I know you have heard this many times before, the statement "Wow, your story made me cry like whoa!" However, I am not a crier. I cannot remember the last movie or story that made me tear up even a little, and this includes the Notebook, which I watched sitting beside a young guy I had a massive crush on at the time who had absolutely no feelings for me. If anything should have made me cry, I figure that would've been a good moment, but I didn't.
However, I did sob irrationally for hours as I read your story. Many of my reviews mention "my poor roommate". This time, she had to fetch tissues for me and console me as I stopped at the end of nearly every chapter to pick a quote that made me bawl like a Tom who had has Bill taken away.
The crying started when Tom is 15, as older Bill discusses the nature of Tom's ability to make decisions. I distinctly remember crying when Tom is 19 and 34, as well as sobbing consistently for the last fifteen chapters or so.
Even as I write this review, I remember the scene in which Bill, age 21, jumps to Tom, age 50 or so, because Tom doesn't recognize his Bill and needs a Bill that he remembers. I waited a while to write this review because I was incoherent for a good amount of time, but that scene still makes me tear up again.
I don't really like crying in public when I spontaneously reminisce over a story I read, so I'm trying to figure out how to view your story with more happiness, because that is clearly the point. And I am getting closer to that goal as I try to imagine this story if it were told from Bill's point of view.
Normally I also like to discuss the writing style more in reviews as well, but all I can say is that each chapter being a year was extremely effective, and the love written between Bill and Tom was raw, genuine, natural, and many other things that true love should be. A miniscule part of me almost wishes that your writing and structure weren't as good as it is, because then this story wouldn't have affected me as much and I could have appreciated the idea in theory and not feel with every part of my conscious being.
Ugh, my reviews always drag on; I haven't figured out that whole "brevity" thing that's so popular. To summarize; you rock, keep writing, and thank you for impacting me in a way that will definitely be remembered for many years to come.

I, like so many others it seems, found myself literally weeping at 2:30 in the morning after staying up late enchanted by your story and unable to put it down before bed.
This story is honestly and genuinely breathtaking. I have laughed in the funny bits, felt for Bill and Tom while they were apart, blushed through the naughty and good bits, wept my heart out in the last chapters, and then finally weepingly smiled at your very last chapter. thats a whole lot of life you included in that story and it was exquisite, i cant tell you how in awe and envious i am of your skill in crafting this fic.
my very many thanks for your beautiful, sad and hopeful words which haunt me even now with thoughts of my grandmother passed away with a similar end.

i was sortof terrified to read this fic because i had a feeling it would have a sad ending.. even though i understand that you had the epilogue to show full circle, im still bawling right now and that was such a sad sad ending. ugh, i loved it but hated it. you're a great writer :)

I hate you but at the same time I love you.
On of the best love stories I have read in all of my time. I laughed smiled cried and doubted their relationship but kept reading. I'm upset that tom got sick but hey stuff happens.
I love this story and recomend it to anyone and everyone. Good luck and keep righting.

Okay, it's 1 am and I have tears streaming down my face and I'm trying to stop sobbing so that my family doesn't wake up. That probably sounds pathetic, but it's true.
This story was just...well, the only word I have for it is beautiful. It amazed me. It brought me feeling so high to feeling so low. Definitely one of the best fics I've ever read.
