Tom is like a white knight, only without a horse, being as they're on a boat. I don't think they'd allow horses on there.
The parts where Tom was trying to acclimate himself to having short hair was funny. Being off balance and all that. That's part of the reason, I think, why I'll never cut my hair. I'd fall over and hurt myself.

Tom is so ridiculously romantic it hurts! Part of me is rather put out by you because the last thing I need is to be reminded of what I may never get. On the other hand, I'd love to hug because if you have live vicariously through fanfiction then this is the BEST way to go. I think my roommate wanted to hit me because I would squeal and gasp and whine every other paragraph and she hasn't gotten this far yet. I have to admit, I don't know how to imagine a dread-less Tom in my head. It's very weird but I like that he did it.
There is one thing my roommate and I were talking about that I think you should know about. We like Tom's inner turmoil, thought process, and ultimate decisions. He's got that voice whispering in the back of his through the entire story but, rather than have Tom be melodramatic about it, he shoves the voice aside and does what feels good. That's how normal people do it and you portray if very realistically. Mmm, bravo on this chapter. It'll keep me going on my long plane ride ahead. I'm anxious for the next chapter!

This chapter was a WONDERFUL relief from other not-so-nice things I had to deal with last night and this morning. And don't worry about my exams--my point was, it was totally WORTH it ^_^
