I love this story so far! It is a little slower than what I usually read, but I'm enjoying it. I'm very much looking forward to the next update!
I can kind of connect a lot with this fic too, especially the line in the previous chapter when Bill says, "I don’t want to sleep. I’m just so fucking tired all the time." That line describes my life perfectly.
I found out a few months ago that I'm anemic. I had been feeling more and more tired over the past two years, ever since I became extremely ill one month. I mentioned it to my doctor this summer when I was in getting some cold medicine, and he didn't think it would turn out to be anything, but he sent me for some tests.
It turns out that I was extremely low in iron which was affecting my red blood cell count, and if I hadn't said anything, I could easily have become comatose.
I take iron supplements now, but they don't help much. I graduated highschool, but I don't even have energy to try to find a job or apply for college. My grades from highschool are terrible because I was tired all the time, and being tired made it easy for me to get sick too.
Unfortunately my life is a lot like Bill's in this story - I sleep for most of the day, and I spend the rest either getting some food so I can take my medicine, watching TV, or taking a short walk outside. My mother isn't as understanding as Simone though - she just thinks I'm being lazy. I guess it's hard for her to understand how I feel. I might say, "I'm tired," but there's no way I could accurately describe the exhaustion I feel.
I have to comment, you're doing an amazing job of portraying the effects of a low red blood cell count. It's making this even more interesting for me to read because I can relate so well to what Bill is going through. It makes me wonder if you've had some personal experience with this too ... anyways, I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

You know, I've actually had no experience with anemia or anything related. I'm kind of just winging it, with a bit of help from the internet, so, on the one hand I'm really glad that I'm portraying Bill as it would be, but then on the other I'm sorry that you feel like he does all the time. I can only imagine what it feels like :(
I'll try get the next chapter up as soon as possible! <33
