I don't normally read het, but since I was reading to validate, I thought I would leave a comment. To be honest, it feels a little weird to read a fic in first person.
For your next fic why don't you try writing it in third person? It gives you more opportunity to explore the story from different perspectives and makes for a more interesting story.
