Gah! I can't breathe! That was amazing! Not that I expected anything less, mind you.
Will you explain more about the whole "realspace" thing? I'm a bit O.o about that...
Author's Response: Hee, thank you! And as to the realspace thing: realspace means our universe, with our laws of physics, etc; jumpspace is sort of a parallel universe where time passes differently, which is how they can cover great distances so quickly. The only known way to retrieve someone/something from jumpspace is by using a jump drive to propel an object into jumpspace, and using a pair of people who are super-closely bonded to drag it back out, at the right coordinates.
Hope that helps, as opposed to making it seem even more complicated. XD

I can't say enough good things about this fic, I really can't. The back story that you've woven throughout the main story is so rich with detail and rife with foreshadowing that it really squeezes my heart. I mean, I've got an inkling of what has to happen, but I'm still so madly worried for the boys, and what this separation will do to them. Bill taking those precious moments of his connection to summon help, to bring Simone to Tom's side, made me ache.
The details, as always, are such a delight. From Fleet Council contracts to Tom projecting sensations to calm Bill, everything's so fully realized.
This is such a brilliant story and I'm enjoying it so much. My poor darlings, hang in there!
Author's Response: And I'm so very pleased that you're enjoying it. This one's heartwrenching to write, too, I'll admit. It's an opportunity for me to explore the deep twin connection that's so fascinating to me, but then I go and throw them into the worst of circumstances. I think as long as they have each other, they'll deal with these curveballs life is throwing at them, though they haven't seen the worst of it yet...

You are quickly becoming one of my favorite writers on this site. When this story was first published I was so hooked I spent the next four hours of my break reading everything you had posted. So far, this one is probably my favorite. It's so different from anything else I've read (I mentioned how I'm not really into Sci-Fi in my first review) but this is actually intriguing me and I want to read more sci-fi now.
This chapter was so cute. I love how the memories always match with something going on in the story. I also really love Simone, even though we haven't seen too much of her yet. She's kick ass, exactly like how I imagine her in real life.
Author's Response: Oh wow, thank you! I think I mentioned before that it really means a lot to me when readers are willing to transcend their usual favored genres in reading my fics. You definitely should check out some other sci-fi, because mine isn't the best, I promise. ;)

Phew.. At least we know that Bill and Tom are ok for the most part. Simone is truly scary in this but I can't blame her and I would do the same. The poor twins though. I hope they will see eachother again soon. This is a wonderful story it's just the way I like them keep it up :)
Author's Response: Yep, I had to provide at least a little relief for them and for anyone reading. :) They're not out of the woods yet, but Simone is definitely going to be a help on that count. Thank you so much, and I'm glad you're enjoying it!

GAH. I love Simone, because if those were my kids i'd have stabbed a bitch for not having the next ship out there YESTERDAY.
and gah. i couldn't imagine having my twin, my soulmate, repeatedly ripped away from me (reminds me of a semihorror story i'm writing)i'd have gone half mad.
just GAH.
why do these heartkilling/amazingly written fics keep updating today?????
Author's Response: I'm loving Simone, too. At first she was slated to be a more minor character, but then I realized that with the boys in such a predicament, she had to be at center stage with them.
Seriously! So many good things updated yesterday. I was reading through a ton of things and practically bawling my eyes out.

There needs to be more of this!

Dear god, woman. I'm so glad you picked up that prompt because this is absolutely amazing. I'm so anxious for more, you don't even know. This is just brilliant.

I can't even express with all of my words how happy this makes me. This is such a beautiful, rich realization of the little idea that I had. I love everything that you did with this, from the details of the testing and how very high Bill and Tom scored, to the port implants and how much Bill loves them and how much Tom loves that Bill loves them, to the way they work together with such smooth coordination on the Jumps. Oh, man. When Bill was saying, "let go," my heart just about broke.
You know I'm hooked! I don't know whether to clamor for more of this, or more "Love for Sale." But rest assured I will be very, very happy no matter what you post next, truly.
More of this would be ace, though. ;) I'm just sayin'.

Oh No!! Tomi! Bill! Will they be ok? They must be so scared! I'm so scared! I hope Tom is ok and that he can find Bill again. Please bring Bill home safe. I'm worried.

You're so evil ;_;
But you're a genius, so I won't stay mad if you update soon ♥ Love it already. I got a bit teary-eyed there for a bit...

There are no words to describe how intense this chapter was. It had me literally leaning over the keyboard with my face inches away from the monitor.
Usually I'm not one for sci-fi kind of stories as it all seems to go over my head but this was beautifully done and I'm itching for more.
Author's Response: I was going for intense, so I'm pleased to hear it worked! Glad it got you reading some sci-fi, too, since I know it's not always the most accessible genre. Most of the Dune series, particularly, went straight over my head, that's for sure.

Ending there was cruel and unusual and you'd best be continuing soon or... or I will pout mightily at you. :practices:
Author's Response: Oh dear. Well, I certainly don't want to be pouted at, so I suppose my only option is to continue asap. ^_~

Great story and very well written. I'm looking forward to the next part. It reminds me a bit of Anne Mccaffrey's ship series which I loved. I like the idea of using only twins to navigate. Are you really going to make them wait seven years to be together again or did you decide not to use that part of the prompt? When does George come into the picture?
Author's Response: Thank you! I loved McCaffrey's ship series, too - The Ship Who Sang and others in the same universe, right? But then, I'm a huge sci-fi fan. And you'll have to wait and see about the answers to those questions, I'm afraid. ;) This fic will be updated regularly, though, I promise.

O_O OMG, I may cry because you stopped it there! Good grief, the tension, you've got me all tied up in knots over here, lol.
Author's Response: No, don't cry! Hopefully the next update will be something of a relief... sort of. ^_~

omg... reminds me a little of an anime i saw recently... Legend of the Blue Wolves))
but really awesome, i want more=)
Author's Response: Oh, interesting! I've never seen that anime before; now I'll have to check it out. :)

OMG i love it i started crying like a baby at the end. Please update soon (need to get more paper for my eyes!)
Author's Response: Glad you liked it despite the tear-inducing nature! There'll be an update soon, promise.

Okay, I just saw star trek for the first time tonight and came home to find this! Urgh, I am soooooo in the mood for a fic like this bby, can't wait for more! :)
Author's Response: I have to admit, seeing Star Trek three times provided a good portion of the inspiration for this story. Such a good film, isn't it? :D More to come soon!

Aiii!! This is too good. :D
Author's Response: Hee, thank you! :D
