I'm really you're not happy with your writing and stuff; usually when I'm upset, I dive into just so I won't have to deal with anything else. Sometimes it helps to rp with someone, you know, like give you a little more confidence with your writing and rping is lots of fun too. ^_^
This chapter was short, yes, but it's building up to so much more! I mean, there's just so many ways you can twist and mold this! And, as for the word count, I don't think how much you say matters as much as what you're saying, you know? =)
I hope whatever's happening with you privately gets resolved soon ^_^

I've just found this story and read through it, and I love it!
I love the way Tom and Bill are around each other, and how they both obviously have strong feelings for each other but won't admit it.
