Oh, silly kits. And that right there is why eavesdroppers should always stick around to listen to the entire conversation. ;) God, Bill and Tom are so adorable though, planning to run away together. Makes me wonder how the real Bill and Tom reacted when they were shuffled into separate classes.
Author's Response: Yup, I've always kind of thought that eavesdroppers get what's coming, if they don't listen to the whole thing in context... Tom was totally ready to do it! If he was a bit older, he might have managed to get them on their way. (Until the caravan master turned them in to Gordon.) And we'll deal with that separate classes issue some day. I have theories of my own. ;D

So, um, I've been reading this story since Year One but never left a review because I'm a lazy ass. I hope to rectify that gradually.
Anyhow, your characterizations and character development draw me in. I really like how you differentiate Tom the pragmatist from Bill the dreamer, and how Tom is learning to differentiate and separate himself from Bill but at the same time becoming attached to Bill in a new way.
I'm looking forward to the EXPLOSION. =D

I love how Tom and Bill are starting to become distinct. And how you make parallels from how they act in real life too.
"Or want to care about for one night," Tom said with a smirk.
Wow, that line seriously made me laugh so hard. XD
I also like how Tom seems like the dependent twin here. Too often I read fics where Bill is the clingly one and Tom seems to have no emotion. I like how you show the struggle on his part and the eventual break where he chooses to be seperated.
But reading about him waiting in his room for Bill to show up really made me sad. Poor Tom, Bill doesn't know how much he needs him.
Sex talk and character growth all in one chapter? I like the way you roll, girl!

Tom is a little punk from the get-go!
But it really is all a front, I think. Underneath it, Tom is conflicted and repressed and definitely starving for Bill's affection. ;D I don't see my Bill as clingy - I see him as more or less secure in Tom's love, even kind of taking it for granted sometimes. And I see that causing problems in the future, at least, in this fic!

Not having parented myself, it's really an amalgam of all of my friends' and role model's parenting styles, and I'm happy that it's coming across well. As for Tom...poor bb had it coming, and I have a feeling he's not done by a long shot.

Even Bill doesn't really know what he did, but yes. Bill's powers are starting to emerge. He sped up Tom's healing by weeks.
