Aww poor Tom, now he feels like he doesn't have chance with Bill.
Simone doesn't seem mean in this story, I'm sure she didn't mean to make Tom feel bad. I think she was just talking without really noticing how it sounded to Tom.
I really like this story. Every time I read it, it pits me in a good mood. I can't help but to have a big smile when Tom and Bill are interacting.
